The invention relates to a scale model of a real motor vehicle which can be transformed between a coupe configuration and a cabriolet configuration. The main body (2) of the car comprises a rear boot (6) which is closed using an articulated hood (7). According to the invention, an assembly comprising a rear window (10) and a rigid roof element (14) can be folded into the aforementioned boot (6). The rear window (10) is articulated to the body (2) at point 11 and the roof element (14) is articulated to the rear window (10) at point 13, said roof element being provided with means (16) for coupling to the top of the windscreen (6). The unfolding of said assembly is facilitated by spring means, such as a spring leaf (26) inside the rear boot (6), or by push means which act on the rear window (10). The invention applies to toy cars and collectible cars.
