    摘要: Disclosed is a vacuum control valve for manually controlling pressure in a vacuum device, such as a vacuum filtration device. In one embodiment, the vacuum control valve comprises (a) an inlet adapted to receive a vacuum port, (b) an outlet in fluid communication with the inlet and adapted to receive a vacuum source; (c) a vacuum vent providing fluid communication among the inlet, the outlet and a gas source; and (d) a vent cap movably mounted to the vacuum vent and capable of sealing the vacuum vent from the gas source. The vent cap can be formed of a flexible, for example, elastomeric, material and, when manually deformed, is displaced from the vacuum vent, thereby opening the vacuum vent. The vent cap can include a tab for actuating the valve such that applying a force to the tab deforms the vent cap, displacing it from the vacuum vent and opening the vacuum vent to the gas source.
    The invention also provides a vacuum filtration device comprising (a) a filter body including a filter membrane; (b) a passageway extending through the body and communicating with the upstream side of the filter for receiving a fluid to be filtered; (c) a junction mounted on the body on the downstream side of the filter and adapted to receive a closed container for receiving the filtered fluid and including sealing means for creating a fluid tight seal between the container and the body; (d) a vacuum port communicating with said junction and adapted to be connected to a vacuum source for drawing the fluid through the filter and comprising a sealable vacuum vent which, when open, provides fluid communication between the vacuum port and a gas source.

    摘要: A culture bottle assembly has a container divided into two compartments by a flange. A closure and flexible septum seals the container from the outside environment. A frame inside the container is moveable between two positions. In one position the two compartments are sealed from each other, and in the second position fluid communication exists between the compartments. The frame has an elongated member and a skirt. The skirt engages the flange to form a seal. Downward force in the elongated member causes the skirt to flex. Cooperating means create a gap between the skirt and the flange when the skirt flexes. The flexible septum covers the elongated member thereby allowing force to be applied to the elongated member without opening the container. A solid media holder has trays for holding solid media in the upper compartment.
