A first biasing member (118) disposed between the pivot member (24) and the lower end of the fuseholder (26) at the second pivot point (139), biasing the pivot member (24) toward the second position. The pivot member (24) includes a planar cam surface (134) that engages a lower contact (92) of the holder member (22).

    摘要: A subminiature circuit protector (10) includes at least one layer of ceramic material having at least one fuse element (24) and a cover (20) in a laminate structure. The ends (12, 14) of laminate structure are coated with electrically conductive end terminations (30, 32). Where a layer has more than one fuse element (24), the fuse elements may be connected in parallel or interconnected in series. Each of the fuse elements (24) of the individual layers may comprise two or more individual fuse elements connected in series or parallel. A method for manufacturing the circuit protector (10) includes the steps of printing a multiplicity of fuse elements (24) on a plurality of green ceramic substrates (40), stacking the substrates (40) to form a laminate structure (60), cutting the laminate (60) into individual units (70), firing the individual units (70), and coating the opposite ends (12, 14) of the units with electrically conductive material to form end terminations (30, 32).

    摘要: The present invention relates to an electric protective circuit comprising an electric fuse, including a solder (3), and an electric resistance loop (10) connected in series with the fuse (1), the fuse and loop being mounted on a substrate (11). The solder (3) will melt at elevated temperatures caused by heating of the substrate (11), and is surrounded by a material (8) which protects the solder (3) against the oxidizing effect of the surrounding air, and is applied in a region (9) surrounding the solder (3) and delimited by barrier walls (7), therewith enabling the solder (3) to contract onto the connecting terminals (4a, 4b) when it melts, therewith breaking the current path. The material (8) is temperature-stable in a solid state at normal fuse operating temperatures. The resistance loop (10) includes current-conducting paths (12) mutually connected with bridging elements (13), whose electrical resistance is much lower than the electrical resistance of the current-conducting paths (12), and trimming elements (14) for adjusting the resistance of the loop.

    摘要: An electrical component (201), particularly a fuse for a surface-mount component, is formed by sputtering an aluminum conductor (253, 553) onto a square tube (251, 551), sleeving the tube into an outer tube (231, 531), placing a number of the assemblies (280, 580) into a fixture (270), filling the fixture and the assemblies with a room-temperature vulcanizing silicone sealant (212, 512), curing the sealant, cutting the assemblies into segments (276), and metallizing the ends of each segment. In one embodiment, the sleeved tubes (251, 231) are mechanically separated from the surrounding silicone. In another embodiment, the silicone-coated tubes (551) are mechanically separated from the outer tubes. In alternative embodiments, fuses (601, 651) are made by sputtering the conductors (605, 655) onto a thin glass substrate (603, 653), covering a link portion (607, 657) of the conductors with silicone adhesive (609, 659), and dicing the substrate.
