    摘要: A compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp (10) which is equivalent to a typical light bulb is provided.
    The self-ballasted fluorescent lamp (10) includes a cover (14), a lighting circuit (16), an arc tube (18), a base (12) and a globe (17) and formed into a shape whose outline dimensions are nearly identical to the standard dimensions of a typical light bulb. The arc tube (18) is comprised of a plurality of U-shaped bent bulbs (31) which have an inner tube diameter ranging from 6 to 9 mm and arranged in parallel with one another. Having a bulb height ranging from 50 to 60 mm and a discharge path from 200 to 300 mm long, the arc tube (18) is designed such that the total luminous flux is not less than 700 lm with a lamp efficiency of not less than 60 lm/W when the lamp is lit at the lamp power of 7 to 15 W. An envelope (19) comprising the cover (14) and the globe (17) has a height ranging from 110 to 125 mm, including the height of the base (12).

A non-uniform coating of phosphor is provided on the interior surface of the discharge envelope to inhibit light otherwise directed inwardly into the lamp toward a longitudinal axis of the helical configuration and redirect the light outwardly through an outer circumferential portion having a thinner phosphor coating. This results in increased light output for an given lamp geometry and lamp power.

The bent connection member has an arc-shaped outer (11a) and an arc-shaped inner bordering wall (11b), an indentation (11c) narrowing the cross-section of the discharge space is formed in the outer boardering wall and the bent connection member has bulged dome portions (11d,11e) between its ends connecting to the straight tube portion and the narrowing indentation. The largest cross-section (A2) inside the tube wall of at least one of the dome portions (11d) is at least 1.8 times but at maximum 2.2 times the smallest cross-section (A3) inside the tube wall between the arc-shaped inner bordering wall (11b) of the bent connection member (11) and the narrowing indentation (11c).

    摘要: A fluorescent lamp includes a lamp tube (14) having first and second ends (14A,14E) and containing fill materials for causing light generation when provided with electrical power. The lamp further includes first and second power-transferring means (41,42) at the first and second ends of the lamp tube, respectively, for providing the fill materials in the lamp tube with electrical power. Also included is a thermal heat shield (16) separating the first power-transferring means from ballast circuitry (18) which supplies power to the first power-transferring means and which has a lifetime that becomes substantially less as its operating temperature increases. The thermal heat shield is constructed so that it reflects back to the first power-transferring means and any adjacent portion of the lamp tube sufficient radiant energy to reduce the operating temperature of the ballast circuitry by more than about one degree Celsius compared with the absence of the heat shield.

    摘要: A compact fluorescent lamp is provided having a lamp envelope which is shaped in the form of a double helix. The lamp envelope is formed so as to exhibit a side contour which is essentially hemispherical in shape thereby providing a light distribution which approximates that of a conventional A-line incandescent lamp. The lamp envelope further provides a top portion which tapers inwardly and which has a crossover portion at the top that provides a light distribution from this top region that is essentially uniform across such top portion. The open coiling configuration of the lamp envelope is further effective for allowing light generated from the interior of the coiled lamp envelope, to pass through the open coil arrangement with a minimum amount of loss as can otherwise occur for a straight lamp envelope arrangement.
