This invention relates to methods for the detection and characterization of psychoactives in neuronal tissue by comparing parameters measured for a set of baseline oscillations with those same parameters measured for a set of resulting oscillations. The baseline oscillations are induced or stimulated by such agents as chemical compounds that effect cholinergic interactions, co-deposited neuronal tissue, or electrical stimulations. The resulting set of oscillations is obtained after exposing the neuronal tissue to a sample composition that may or may not contain a psychoactive. By comparing the parameters for the baseline and resulting oscillations, the psychoactive in the sample composition may be detected and characterized as belonging to a specific psychoactive compound class and in some instances, may be distinguished from other members of the psychoactive compound class.

The present invention provides a spring steel that has superior hardenability, undergoes less pitting in a corrosive environment, and can achieve higher stress and toughness. A novel hydrocarbon feedstream catalyst bed for the desulfurization of a gas or a liquid hydrocarbon feedstream and a process comprising passing a hydrocarbon feedstream over the catalyst bed is descrived. The bed comprises a least two catalysts having different sulfur compound affinities and / or specificities thereby improving the overall amount of sulfur compound removal. The process reduces the sulfur content in a gas hydrocarbon feedstream from up to about 300 ppm to less than about 500 ppb, and in a liquid hydrocarbon feedstream from up to about 3% to less than about 500 ppb.

The present invention provides an apparatus and method for attachment between intersecting stent members and a covering or graft. The attachment fixes the covering relative to selected intersections of the stent members and prevents the covering from wrinkling, crimping, or sliding during radial expansion of the stent. In a preferred embodiment, the attachment comprises a continuous filament passing through the stent covering and looping around stend members between selected intersections and knotted around the intersecting stent members at selected intersections.

As applied in the vascular system, the device comprises a catheter (210) configured to be advanced endovascularly to a graft location. A generally tubular temporary stent (220) having a distal end (228) and a proximal end is tapered and attached to the catheter at the proximal end. The temporary stent comprises helically braided thread members (222) that expand radially outwardly to a maximum diameter in a resting state. The temporary stent terminates in discrete ends (228A) temporarily affixed to the graft at the distal end. A tubular sheath (230) selectively and reversibly radially constrains the temporary stent. The sheath is configured to be longitudinally moveable relative the temporary stent to constrain and reconstrain the temporary stent when positioned over the temporary stent, and to release the temporary stent when withdrawn from over the temporary stent. Optionally, a perfusion balloon (400) may be combined with the temporary stent to stabilize the graft during vascular surgical treatment.
