A printing press is provided. The printing press includes a print unit printing a stream of printed products, the printed products having a first pitch. The printing press also includes a pitch changing device. The pitch changing device includes an upper roller mounted on an upper axle, a lower roller mounted on a lower axle, the upper and lower rollers forming a roller nip, and a motor driving the upper and lower rollers in opposite directions. The nip receives the stream of printed products. The motor varies the velocity of the nip and the printed products using an electronic cam velocity profile so as to alter the first pitch. A method is also provided.

In addition, at least one cam roller (14) and at least one eccentric roller (13) is fixedly mounted on the brake shaft. Due to a rotation of the brake shaft, the eccentric roller can optionally be brought into engagement with the diametrically opposed drive roller such that a value document is clamped between these, or can be disengaged from the diametrically opposed drive roller such that the value document is no longer clamped between the two, but instead can be braked by the engagement between the cam roller and the rotatably mounted roller.

A print sheet transfer device has upstream rollers 20a, downstream rollers 20b, and a pair of first and second guide plates 41 and 42 movable between a guide position and a release position for a print sheet. When the guide plate is moved from the guide position to the release position, the upstream side of the print sheet held with the upstream rollers is fed in a transfer direction in accordance with the movement. When the downstream side of the print sheet is held with or thrusted against the downstream rollers, a sag is formed in the print sheet between the upstream rollers and the downstream rollers. It is possible to easily perform an operation to remove the print sheet.
