A method for the continuous production of boards having a lignocellulosic fiber material wherein the material is broken up into particles and/or fibers that are dried, glued and formed and pressed to a finished board. The mat is pre-compressed while steam is introduced in such a limited amount during the pre-compression that the temperature of the fibrous mat increases to a value within an interval of 60-95 °Celsius. In this way, the spring back characteristics of the fiber mat is reduced so that its resistance to compression is reduced and the thickness can be reduced more in the pre-compression while the temperature is not so high to initiate a curing process.

In a method of pre-pressing a formed web of finely-divided lignocellulosic fibre material prior to pressing the web to a finished state in the continuous manufacture of board material, the fibre material is compacted and pressed successively in an entry section (7) of a pre-press (6) subsequent to being formed into a web (11) and subsequent to a first compression and expansion. The web is compressed in this latter pressing process to a density close to the density of the web after the first compression, whereafter the web is allowed to expand to a controlled limited extent in a pre-press expansion section (9), and thereafter transferred to the finishing press. Steam (A, B) is injected into the web (9) when the web is located in the pre-press (6).

Die erfindungsgemäße Vorrichtung sieht die Wärmeübergabe von den Heizkörpern auf den Werkstoff reibungsfrei über einen in der Höhe regelbaren Luftspalt (21,22) vor. Hierdurch wird die erforderliche Erwärmung des Werkstoffs sehr trägheitsarm regelbar. Die Feuchtigkeit des Werkstoffs wird vor Eintritt in die Vorrichtung nach Bedarf innerhalb dieser und an deren Ende mehrfach gemessen und die Wärmeübergabe auf den Werkstoff bedarfsorientiert laufend geregelt. Hierdurch ist es möglich, den Werkstoff auf jeden gewünschten Feuchtigkeits-Grad zwischen nahe 0% und 30 bis 35% zu trockenen, wodurch Energie eingespart wird, und bei deren Verpressung zu Schichtstoff-Werkstoffen wasserarme Bindemittel eingesetzt werden können.

The invention relates to a device and method for dispersing particles, especially those that are mixed with at least one binding agent, e.g. fibers containing ligno-cellulose and or cellulose, chips or the like, in order to form a nonwoven i.e. in order to produce formed objects in particular, especially boards. The inventive device and method enable chip boards, fiber boards and combined chip and fiber boards to be produced at low cost. The invention also enables different widths of boards to be produced without having to modify the inventive device.

The pelletized adsorbents are formed by pressing together powder nanocrystalline particles comprising a metal hydroxide or a metal oxide at pressures of from about 50 psi to about 6000 psi to form discrete self-sustaining bodies. The pelletized bodies should retain at least about 25 % of the surface area/unit mass and total pore volume of the starting metal particles.
