Bisher nicht bekannte, linear aufgebaute, unvernetzte Poly-bis-triazinylamine mit einem Polymerisationsgrad von bis zu ca. 200 der Formel in welcher mindestens einer der Reste R' bis R5 eine Polyalkylpiperidylgruppe sein oder diese enthalten muß, werden durch gezielte Umsetzung von Cyanurhalogenid mit Diaminen in mehreren, aufeinander folgenden Verfahrensschritten erhalten. Die neuen Verbindungen sind als schwerflüchtige, besonders migrationsfeste Lichtstabilisatoren für synthetische Polymere brauchbar.

When coupling protein and non-protein affinity ligands to solid-phase supports activated with trichloro-s-triazine (TsT), the TsT activated solid-phase support is prepared by reacting a water-free insoluble solid support with TsT in a nonaqueous medium comprising an organic solvent, neutralizing HCl generated during the reaction with a tertiary amine that does not form an insoluble complex with TsT and washing the resultant TsT activated support with organic solvent. After washing, the TsT activated support may be reacted with a nucleophile in an organic solvent to replace one or both chlorine atoms on the triazine ring.

New optical brightening agents and photographic materials which contain in at least one layer these brightening agents are provided. The compounds have the general formula wherein R 1 and R 3 are hydrogen or methyl, R 2 and R 4 are alkyl, R 5 is hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, X is -NH-,-O-or -S- L 1 and L 2 are alkylene oxide chains and M⊖ is a hydrogen or an alkali metal cation. These brightening agents enhance the brightness in the white areas of photographic print materials.

The present invention relates to a new process for the preparation of ammeline and/or ammelide from melamine by a solid-to-solid reaction in an aqueous reaction mixture comprising a biocatalyst, wherein the biocatalyst comprises at least one enzyme belonging to the amidohydrolase superfamily and having aminohydrolase activity towards 1,3,5-triazine compounds. The invention further relates a product obtainable by the process according to the invention, wherein the product comprises ammeline and/or ammelide.
