The invention relates to a Q-switched laser comprising a pump light source (1), an optical resonator, in which a laser medium (6) is situated and a passive Q-switch (5). The aim of the invention is to provide an improved Q-switched laser which has a simple, compact construction with a repetition rate that has at the same time the smallest possible degree of time jitter. To achieve this, according to the invention, part of the light that is decoupled from the optical resonator is fed to an optical delay line (9) by means of a beam splitter (8) and is re-coupled to the optical resonator once it has passed through said optical delay line (9). The invention relates to a device (1) for generating laser pulses, comprising a pump laser (1), which emits laser pulses at a pump wavelength (12) with a repetition frequency, wherein the pulse duration of the laser pulses is 0.5-100 ps; comprising an optical parametric oscillator (3), which converts at least some of the laser pulses from the pump laser (1) into laser pulses at a signal wavelength (10) and an idler wavelength (11) different therefrom, wherein the optical parametric oscillator (3) has an optical resonator (20); comprising a non-linear wavelength converter (22), which converts the laser pulses from the pump laser (1) into laser pulses at the signal wavelength (10) and the idler wavelength (11); and comprising a coupling-out element (24), which couples out at least some of the radiation from the optical resonator (20). The problem addressed by the invention is that of providing a device which enables the efficient generation of synchronous laser pulse trains at two different central wavelengths, wherein the available tuning range with regard to the spacing of the central wavelengths is increased with respect to the prior art. For this purpose, the invention proposes that the pump laser (1) is tunable with regard to the pump wavelength (12) and the repetition frequency, and that the resonator (20) has an optical fibre (23) having a dispersion in the range of 10-100 ps/nm and a length of 10-1000 m. The invention also relates to a method for generating laser pulses using such a device.

The fiber (3), the dispersion-compensating element (2), the element (8) for extracting radiation, and the non-linear mode-coupling element (1b, 1c) are disposed between the two reflectors (1) in a joint beam path defined by the resonators. The total dispersion of the components located in the beam path is normal.
