摘要： An apoptosis inducer containing at least either a phenanthrene derivative represented by general formula (1) or a salt thereof in a pharmacologically available dose as the active ingredient together with an innocuous pharmacological carrier. In said formula, R represents hydrogen or lower alkyl. The inducer can induce or promote apoptosis and is hence useful in the medicinal field as, for example, carcinostatic, remedy for autoimmune diseases, remedy for liver diseases such as hepatitis and hepatocirrhosis, and cancerous metastasis inhibitor.
