摘要: In a cooling structure of a cylinder block, a cooling medium is supplied into the cylinder block (1) in which a water jacket (2) continuously extends around a bore wall (4), so as to uniform the bore wall temperature. The cooling structure sets a cooling characteristic of the water jacket (2) based on at least one of variation in the bore wall temperature in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the borehole and variation in the temperature of the cooling medium flowing around the bore wall (2). The structure improves the cylinder bore cooling efficiency or the cooling uniformity.

摘要: A cooling system (20) for an internal combustion engine (11) includes a radiator (22) provided in a coolant circulation path of the internal combustion engine, and an actuator (24) that controls a flow rate of a coolant that passes through the radiator. In the cooling system, the actuator is controlled so that a coolant temperature of the engine becomes substantially equal to a target coolant temperature. The cooling system calculates a cooling loss as a quantity of heat removed from the engine by the coolant, based on an operating state of the engine, and calculates a required radiator flow rate, based on the cooling loss, the target coolant temperature, and a temperature of the coolant that has passed through the radiator. The required radiator flow rate represents a quantity of the coolant required to pass through the radiator so as to achieve the target coolant temperature. The cooling system then controls the actuator based on the required radiator flow rate.

摘要: The invention provides an engine cooling device capable of suitably promoting the warm-up of an engine. This device comprises a cooling circuit and a heat-accumulating passage. The cooling circuit is composed of a radiator passage, a bypass passage, and a flow rate control valve 22 for controlling the flow rate of coolant flowing through the bypass passage. The heat-accumulating passage is provided with a heat-accumulating container 16, and constitutes a heat-accumulating circuit for causing coolant in the heat-accumulating container 16 to circulate via an engine E. The cooling device completes the heat-accumulating circuit by connecting the heat-accumulating passage to the cooling circuit to supply the cooling medium in the heat-accumulating container 16 to the body of the engine E, opens the flow rate control valve 22 to increase a flow rate of cooling medium flowing through the bypass passage, then disconnects the heat-accumulating passage from the cooling circuit, and closes the flow rate control valve 22.

摘要: A flow control valve is located in a coolant circuit that extends through an engine. The flow control valve is operated in accordance with a control mode selected from a full closing control mode, a full opening control mode, and a feedback control mode. When switching from one control mode to another, the flow control valve is controlled in accordance with a transitional control procedure selected from different types of transitional control procedures. The transitional control procedure to be performed is selected depending on which control modes are performed before and after the control mode switching and/or the current condition of the engine. Transitional controlling of the flow control valve is thus appropriately conducted.

摘要: An engine cooling apparatus includes a flow regulating valve, which adjusts a flow rate of a coolant passing through a radiator provided in a coolant circulation passage of the engine, and an electronic control unit (ECU), which controls an opening of the flow regulating valve such that an engine outlet coolant temperature reaches a necessary target temperature. The ECU sets a basic opening as a feedforward term based on the operation state of the engine. The ECU calculates a final opening from an F/B constant as a feedback term, which is increased or decreased such that the engine outlet coolant temperature reaches the target temperature, and the basic opening. Further, the ECU performs feedback control on the opening of the flow regulating valve based on the final opening. As a result, the responsibility of the coolant temperature control is improved.
