摘要:
A variable form handheld computer may be configurable either as a short form handheld computer or as long form handheld computer. The variable form handheld computer comprises a variable form housing frame configurable as either a short form housing frame or a long form housing frame. The variable form housing frame comprises a plurality of handheld computing modules comprising a display module, a circuitry module, a battery module and a variable form keyboard, the variable form keyboard configurable either as a short form keyboard or a long form keyboard. The long form housing frame securely frames the handheld computing modules when the variable form keyboard is configured as the long form keyboard, and the short form housing frame securely frames the plurality of computing modules when the variable form keyboard is configured as the short form keyboard. The variable form handheld computer is configurable as the long form handheld computer using the long form housing frame, and is configurable as the short form handheld computer using the short form housing frame.

A method, apparatus and system are described for adjusting the frequency of one or more clock signals used by a device. The one or more clock signals are adjusted by a determined amount when a channel quality metric of an RF channel in use by the device indicates a degradation in the reception quality. A radio frequency channel quality metric (RF metric) of a radio frequency channel in use is monitored by a device; a clock signal used by a clocked component of the device is determined as a target clock signal to adjust when the RF metric violates a threshold; a clock adjustment is determined to apply to the target clock signal; a rate of the target clock signal is adjusted according to the clock adjustment; followed by a step of returning to monitor the RF metric of the radio frequency channel or an RF metric of another radio frequency channel in use by the device.

The barcode decoding system (300) includes an imager for capturing an image of the barcode, a motion sensor (318) for collecting acceleration data and a processor (302) that is configured to determine a velocity of the image sensor (320) during the exposure period based on the acceleration data and a periodic motion model. The determined velocity is used to adjust the edge detection algorithm used to detect the barcode features in order to decode the barcode. The orientation of the captured barcode can also be determined in order to determine the velocity in a direction perpendicular to the barcode features.

A method and system for RFID communication is provided. The system includes a first RFID reader (2) and an RFID read-write tag (252a) uniquely assigned to the first RFID reader. The RFID read-write tag receives information from RFID readers (1a) other than the first RFID reader and provides the information to the first RFID reader.

The method and system is provided for using an access list stored on a memory of a first computing device, the access list for controlling communication between the first computing device and a plurality of computing devices in a Bluetooth communication network (that is, one capable of short range wireless communication operating in the 2.4 GHz ISM radio frequency band.) In response to a connection request between the first computing device and a second computing device of the plurality of computing devices, the method determines whether the second computing device is on the access list by comparing an identifier of the second computing device provided by the second computing device to the access list to determine if the identifier matches an entry in the access list. Connection between the first computing device and the second computing device is prevented in response to determining that the identifier of the second computing device is not on the access list.
