Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a liquid or semi-liquid product that is sensitive to oxidation, for example beverages, wherein the production method includes a step of deoxygenating an intermediate medium involved in the production of either the liquid or the semi-liquid, and a heating step, for example pasteurization, after the deoxygenation step, characterized in that the method involves injecting a hydrogenated gaseous mixture into the liquid or semi-liquid between the deoxygenation step and the heating step.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for separating volatiles from particulates are provided. The apparatus includes a separator having an internal volume and a fluid discharge outlet, a particulate discharge outlet, a particulate inlet, and a fluid inlet disposed on the separator and in fluid communication with the internal volume. The particulate inlet is disposed toward a first end of the separator and the fluid inlet is disposed toward a second end of the separator. The fluid inlet includes one or more openings disposed through a sidewall of the separator.
Abstract:
A degasser comprising a shell in which a plurality of nozzles are present for spraying into the shell a liquid fed to them, a plurality of plates being provided within the shell to receive said liquid sprayed by said nozzles, said plates being disposed such that the liquid is able to run from the upper plates to the lower plates, a port being provided for steam entry into said shell, and conveyor means for directing said steam between said plates, the steam being directed from the lower plates to the upper plates, at least one first outlet being provided to extract the degassed liquid from the bottom of said degasser, said first outlet being provided in such a manner as to enable a layer of degassed liquid to form on the bottom of said container when in use, and at least one second outlet to enable a minimum part of said steam plus degassed gases to be extracted from the interior of said shell, said conveyor means conveying said entering steam such as to make it bubble through said layer of degassed liquid, to hence further reduce its concentration of dissolved gases.
Abstract:
A water processing device for removing contaminants from water for consumption, consisting of: 1) a heat exchanger; 2) a heater; 3) a boiler chamber; 4) a liquid level control device; 5) a demister; 6) a degasser; and, 7) a self-cleaning component. A water seal to prevent steam from leaking from the device with liquid seal is also provided.
Abstract:
A steam stripping apparatus is provided that prevents adherence of crumbs to an inner wall of a crumbing tank, pipe blockages caused by reaggregated large particle size crumbs, clogging of a screen by small particle size crumbs, and slipping in an extruder, and which can operate over a long period of time. The crumbing tank includes a stir shaft and an impeller, and also has a baffle plate on an inner wall face. The impeller has a knife blade. The baffle plate has an approximately triangular cross-sectional shape having, on a cross section in a cylindrical lateral direction of the crumbing tank, a side face on each of an upstream side and a downstream side with respect to a flow direction of a fluid, and in which the upstream-side side face and the downstream-side side face meet to form an intersection point. An angle of the baffle plate that is formed by a line segment of the upstream-side side face on a cross section in a cylindrical lateral direction of the crumbing tank and a line segment that connects to the intersection point from the center of the stir shaft is between 30 and 75 degrees. An angle of the baffle plate formed by a line segment of the downstream-side side face on the cross section in a cylindrical lateral direction of the crumbing tank and the line segment that connects to the intersection point from the center of the stir shaft is between 30 and 75 degrees.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for treating water of the spray type, such as a deaerator or preheater. According to the invention the connection between the vessel (12) and the sprayer (34) and the supply of water to be treated comprises a pipe section (40) having a first open end in fluid communication with a treatment chamber and a second open end provided with a first flange (60) for connecting to a sprayer (34), the sprayer (34) comprising a sprayer flange (68) connected to said first flange (60), the sprayer flange (68) carrying the sprayer (34), which is in fluid communication with a connecting pipe (72) at one end thereof, the connecting pipe (72) extending through the first flange (60) to a coupling flange (74) for connection to the supply of water to be treated.
