    摘要: The basic idea is provide several spare boards at least on thereof being associated to a different chain of boards. By connecting the spare boards of the different board chains, a pool of spare boards is obtained. Thus, the associations of the spare boards to respective chains are, at least virtually, resolved allowing to employ the spare boards for healing of failures for any of the boards in the different chains. In particular, the present inventions allows a healing of several failures independently of the location of a failure in the chains. The number of spare boards in the different chains determines the number of pool spare boards and, thus, the minimum number of failures which can be healed. In order to increase the number healable failures, the number of spare boards in the different chains can be increased. Further, it contemplated to operate and to re-configure at least one of the board(s) originally forming one of the different chains, spare board(s) already used for failure healing and chain(s) such that an increased number failures are compensated without the need for an increased number of spare boards.

    摘要: The present invention discloses a distributed electrical cross apparatus, and a system and method for the distributed electrical cross apparatus implementing an SNC cascade protection. The apparatus comprises a backboard and at least four single-boards integrated with electrical cross units, wherein the single-boards are inserted in the limited number of slots in the backboard, and these single-boards also set line-side service access units, client-side service access units and backboard access units. The present invention has both accessing of line-side services and accessing of client-side services in the same single-board, access and flexible scheduling of various services such as line-side services and client-side services and so on are implemented on the backboard with limited number of slots, and the function of the distributed electrical cross system processing various services is increased in the case of low cost. Moreover, the present invention not only performs protection switching for the sub-network with fault, but also can implement protection switching for the single-board with fault. As the multiplexing and de-multiplexing modules are introduced to process sub-wavelength level services, protection can also be performed for the sub-wavelength level service with fault.

    摘要: A terminal for interconnecting a large number of subscriber telephone circuits with a large bandwidth fiber optic transmission system. A system backplane includes a large number of connectors that each can receive a subscriber printed circuit card which is connectable to subscriber telephone equipment. Each connector is connected to several separate communication buses that each carry a number of communication channels from the fiber optic system, but a primary bus position of each connector is connected to a single, unique bus. This allows each card to have a dedicated bus for up to the number of communication channels of the bus, with additional channel capacity available from primary buses of other connectors, if necessary.
