摘要:
A method in a radio communication system (100) for assigning a short-lived Cell Radio Network Temporary Identifier, "C-RNTI", to a first user equipment (110) performing random access to a radio network node (130). The method comprises registering (303, 312) the first user equipment (110) as connected to the radio network node (130), wherein the short-lived C-RNTI is assigned to the first user equipment (110) for identification thereof during a first time period; and transferring (304, 313), from the radio network node (130) to the first user equipment (110), a message for synchronizing the radio network node (130) and the first user equipment (110) with respect to the first time period. Before the first time period has elapsed the method further comprises associating (302), by the radio network node (130), a first extended C-RNTI to the first user equipment (110), wherein the first extended C-RNTI comprises a first set of bits and a second set of bits, wherein number of bits of the first set is equal to number of bits of the short-lived C-RNTI. After the first time period has elapsed the method further comprises maintaining (305, 314) the first user equipment (110) connected to the radio network node (130), allowing (306) the short-lived C-RNTI to be assigned to a second user equipment (120), thereby enabling use of the short-lived C-RNTI for identification of the second user equipment (120) when connected to the radio network node (130); and assigning downlink transmission resources to the first user equipment (110) by utilizing the first extended C-RNTI as a means for identifying the first user equipment (110) on a Physical Downlink Control Channel, PDCCH.

The invention relates to a method, by a Policy and Charging Rules Function, PCRF (100), of a mobile communications network, to control a signalling of congestion information of mobile entities at a plurality of Radio Access Network Congestion Awareness Functions, RCAFs (200), which monitor which mobile entities are affected by congestion in a radio access network (10) of the mobile communications network, the method comprising the steps of receiving, from one of the RCAFs, an indication that one of the mobile entities is affected by congestion, storing said one RCAF from which the indication is received as the current RCAF for said one mobile entity, receiving, from another RCAF, an indication that said one mobile entity is affected by congestion, and indicating, in response to the indication received from said another RCAF, to the current RCAF to release a context for said one mobile entity.

Congestion level configuration for radio access network congestion handling A radio access network node (100) of a cellular network receives an indication of one or more criteria. The criteria which define one or more congestion levels. Further, the radio access network node (100) receives, for each of the one or more congestion levels, an indication of a congestion handling policy associated with this congestion level. Depending on the one or more criteria, the radio access network node (100) determines whether one of the one or more congestion levels is reached. In response to determining that one of the one or more congestion levels is reached, the radio access network node (100) applies the congestion handling policy associated with this congestion level.

A method in a Radio Access Network Congestion Awareness Function, RCAF (200), of sending, to a Policy and Charging Rules Function, PCRF (100, 100-1 - 100-3), of a mobile communications network (1), congestion information (415) for a plurality of mobile entities, UEs (400-1 - 400-8), each one of the plurality of UEs (400-1 - 400-8) being connected to a respective radio access network (10) of the mobile communications network (1) and associated with the PCRF (100, 100-1 - 100-3), the congestion information (415) indicating congestion of the respective radio access network (10). The method comprising sending a Radio Access Network User Plane Congestion Information, RUCI, report (501) for transmitting congestion information of a given UE (400-1-400-8) to a PCRF (100, 100-1 - 100-3), including congestion information (415) and an identity (414) of the given UE (400-1 - 400-8) of the plurality of UEs (400-1 - 400-8), wherein the RUCI report (501) is routed by a Diameter Routing Agent, DRA (600) to the PCRF (100, 100-1 - 100-3), and receiving a response message (502) including an identity (413) of the PCRF (100, 100-1 - 100-3) associated with the given UE (400-1 - 400-8). The method further comprising aggregating the congestion information (415) for at least some of the plurality of UEs (400-1-400-8) based on the respective UEs (400-1 - 400-8) being associated with the PCRF (100, 100-1 - 100-3), and sending a message (411-1, 411-3) including the aggregated congestion information (415) to the PCRF (100, 100-1 - 100-3), wherein said sending of the message (411-1, 411-3) employs the retrieved identity (413) of the PCRF (100, 100-1 - 100-3) to route the message (411-1, 411-3) to the PCRF (100, 100-1 - 100-3).

A technique for signalling activation or deactivation of a data-over-non-access-stratum, NAS, transmission scheme is disclosed, the transmission scheme being for transmitting data packets over the NAS between a terminal and a base station, and being started in an idle mode. In a method aspect, there are steps of determining a trigger condition indicating a need for the data-over-NAS transmission scheme, and signalling an indication for activation or deactivation in response to fulfilment or non-fulfilment of the determined trigger condition. In another method aspect, there may be steps of receiving the indication for activation or deactivation, and activating or deactivating the data-over-NAS transmission scheme in response to the signalled indication.

A method, femto Base Station, and network service node for connecting a User Equipment UE, to local devices in a local network. The femtoBS includes a femtoBS part and a Packet Data Network Gateway, PDN-GW, part comprising a subset of PDN-GW functions. The UE sends a PDN connection request that includes a special Access Point Name, APN, which indicates the request ts for local IP access. The network service node, such as a Mobility Management Entity, MME1 includes a gateway selection mechanism that, based on the special APN1 selects the PDN GW part of the femtoBS device to serve the connection. A route optimization function in the femtoBS shortcuts the traffic between the femtoBS part and the PDN GW part, providing direct access to the local network. The UE may access the Internet through a residential gateway in the local network and a fixed access connection.

Access control according to a policy defined for a plurality of electronic devices comprising a cellular modem and associated with the same user. If an end user has two electronic devices, such as a fire alarm or an electricity meter, which both have a cellular modem and are allowed to operate in parallel under the same subscription, the end user can abuse this subscription by lending or selling one of the devices to another person. This abuse can be prevented by the present invention in that the network access is controlled according to a policy defined for the plurality of electronic devices operating under the same subscription. In particular, the policy defines a threshold distance between a primary electronic device and each additional electronic device belonging to said plurality of electronic devices operating under the same subscription which specifies the maximum distance from the primary electronic device which still allows to gain access to the network.
