    摘要: A side-slotted nozzle type double sheet spacer grid for nuclear fuel assemblies. The spacer grid includes intersecting inner strips and four perimeter strips. Each inner strip has unit strip parts, each fabricated by integrating two unit sheet parts together into a single structure, such that the two unit sheet parts face each other and a nozzle type coolant channel is defined between the two unit sheet parts. Each perimeter strip is fabricated by integrating an inner thin sheet having the unit sheet parts with a flat outer thin sheet having a width corresponding to the width of the inner thin sheet into a single structure. The coolant channel has one or more outlets formed by cutting an upper portion of one of the two unit sheet parts of each unit strip part. Each unit sheet part has a slot longitudinally formed on each side surface of a spring that is projected from the unit sheet part to support a fuel rod within a four-walled cell. The spacer grid thus effectively deflects and mixes coolants together to improve the heat transfer effect between fuel rods and coolants, and enhances its strength to effectively resist laterally directed forces acting thereon, and remarkably improves spring performance of its fuel rod support parts, thus accomplishing desired soundness of the fuel assemblies.

The apparatus withstands use in extreme environments such as high temperature and high radiation and it can also be used as a range finder.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a tube and a sheet of niobium-containing zirconium alloys for the high burn-up nuclear fuel. The method comprises melting Nb-added zirconium alloy to ingot; forging the ingot at β phase range; β-quenching the forged ingot after solution heat-treatment at 1015-1075 °C; hot-working the quenched ingot at 600-650 °C; cold-working the hot-worked ingot in three to five passes, with intermediate vacuum annealing; and final vacuum annealing the cold-worked ingot at 440-600 °C, wherein temperatures of intermediate vacuum annealing and final vacuum annealing after β-quenching are changed so as to attain the condition under which precipitates in the alloy matrix are limited to an average diameter of 80 nm or smaller and the accumulated annealing parameter (Σ A) is limited to 1.0 × 10 -18 hr or lower, thereby yielding a tube and a sheet of Nb-containing zirconium alloys with excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, capable of stably maintaining nuclear fuel in operation conditions of high temperature/high pressure of high burn-up reactor cores. Such Nb-added zirconium alloys are useful as nuclear fuel cladding tubes, grids and structures of the cores in the light water reactors and heavy water reactors.
