摘要： A cable tray support system supports a plurality of cables and conduits therein. Cable tray support system includes a pair of longitudinally extending transversely spaced rails (12,14) and a plurality of longitudinally spaced transversely extending cable support members (18,19) extending between the rails. Cable support members include provisions for the secure support of cables within the tray by use of both a cable tie and a pipe strap. Such combination provides greater flexibility to the cable tray of the present invention by allowing several securement techniques within a given cable tray system.

摘要： The method and apparatus is provided for sealing a splice (14) in an electrical cable. A pair of spaced-apart sealing dams are formed about the electrical cable with the splice being located therebetween. A generally cylindrical splice enclosing shell (30), having a pair of opposed open ends is supported around the splice. The shell includes plural shell fingers (40) extending from each end of the shell. The shell fingers are secured to each other at a location outwardly adjacent of the sealing dams to positionally confine the sealing dams, preventing outward migration thereof. The splice may be encapsulated with an encapsulant under pressure, which is retained by the splice enclosing shell.

摘要： An electrical connector assembly (10) securely locks electrical contacts within a connector housing (12). The connector assembly includes a plurality of electrical contacts (22) each having first and second longitudinally spaced locking elements. A connector housing includes an interconnection end and a contact insertion end. The connector housing also includes an initial contact support member (18) positioned adjacent the insertion end of the housing. The initial contact support member includes a plurality of apertures (58) permitting insertable passage of the contacts therethrough. Engagement elements on the initial contact support member engage the first locking element of the contacts preventing inadvertent withdrawal of the contacts from the housing. A final contact support member (20) is movably positioned adjacent the interconnection end of the housing. The final contact support member includes contact passage apertures (62) therethrough. Each contact passage aperture has a first aperture portion which permits insertion of the contacts (22) therethrough and a second aperture portion which restricts withdrawal of the contacts therethrough. The final contact support member is movable within the housing to move from a first position permitting contact passage through the apertures to a second position preventing contact passage through the apertures.

摘要： A plastic floor box assembly for use with electrical raceways installed in concrete floors, having a plastic box (12), an activation ring (14), a cover plate (16) for retaining an electrical outlet, and an outlet cover (18) securable to the cover plate. The activation ring (14) is secured within the open top of the floor box by a plurality of retaining clips (26), having barbs (36) extending outwardly and upwardly therefrom. The barbs allow easy insertion of the activation ring (14) into the box (12), while preventing withdrawal. In a second embodiment designed for use in tile floors, a pair of support clips (44) are also provided on the activation ring to prevent over-insertion of the ring into the box.

摘要： An article such as an electrical connector in the form of a connector base 1 and a plurality of electrical terminals 2 is transported by means of a suction cup 4 which has a suction area greater than can be provided by the surface of the connector base 1. To enable transportation of the electrical connector, a length of adhesive tape 5 is attached to the connector base 1, the tape 5 having an area which is greater than the suction area of the suction cup 4.
After transportation of the electrical connector, e.g. to a workstation where the electrical terminals 2 are soldered, e.g. using infrared radiation, the adhesive tape 5 is removed from the connector base.
The tape is an aramid-based adhesive tape, such as Nomex (R.T.M.) tape having a thickness of between 0.25 mm and 1.00 mm, e.g. substantially 0.25 mm, and the electrical connector is an SMT ("surface mount technology") connector.
