摘要:
The present invention refers to a device for blood extraction and collection from the placenta and/or the umbilical cord through a system that combines the collection of said blood falling under gravity, together with a suction system facilitating this fall. The invention allows the extraction of a larger amount of blood than is obtained by conventional gravity systems without posing a health risk to the mother, allowing a controlled suction that prevents premature detachment of the placenta.

The present invention relates to solid supports that are used for the storage and further processing of biological materials. The invention is particularly concerned with solid supports which have at least one surface coated with a chemical mixture that enhances the recovery of the biological material from the support. Methods of preparing and using the solid supports are also described.

Disclosed are methods and collecting devices for recovering blood from an umbilical cord, in which tissue containing the blood from the umbilical cord is subjected to a pressure, under the effect of which the blood from the umbilical cord flows into at least one receiving device (20), inside a chamber (10), the pressure being effective in a uniform manner on the tissue surface in the chamber.

The invention concerns a placental blood sampling device comprising at least one sampling needle (10, 11) for perforating the vein of the umbilical cord and/or of the placenta vein, as well as a collecting reservoir (20) connected to said at least one needle (10, 11) via at least one conduit (40), the device including suction means (30) connected to said at least one needle (10, 11) and adapted to draw out placental blood to supply it to said collecting reservoir (20), said suction means (30) including a Redon type vacuum jar (20), forming simultaneously a collecting reservoir.
摘要:
An apparatus (1) for extracting fluids from a body tissue or organ having an aperture, including a seat (26) for positioning said tissue, and a pressure means (17, 22) for applying pressure to said tissue while leaving said tissue aperture open for the exit of said fluids. The surface (23) of the supporting surface of the tissue is shaped as a funnel or cone, so that the apex is directed downward and the base (29) delimits the supporting surface of the tissue; the apex region being constituted by a hollow cylinder (22) in order to allow the passage of the umbilical cord of a placenta or of the vessel for the drainage of fluids from the placenta or organ or tissue; the supporting surface being provided so as to avoid producing obstructions or collapse of the surface vessels of the placenta or organ or tissue, so as to avoid hindering the flow of blood or fluid.
摘要:
An apparatus for collecting a large volume of blood from an umbilical cord (5) in a sterile environment comprising: a housing (100) having an inner region (40) adapted to retain an umbilical cord (5) in a desired location is provided, the housing having an opening (62) through which the cord (5) extends from the inner region of the housing to a region external to the housing. The cord is cut by a blade (70) coupled to the housing, either by the motion of the blade from a first position to a second position, or by the movement of two portions of the housing from a first extended position to a second collapsed position. The newly cut end of the umbilical cord falls and hangs freely in the inner region of the housing, blood flowing from the placenta and umbilical cord (5) via gravity into blood collection region (50) of the housing. The blood collection region may be flexible, and may be coupled to a conventional blood collection bag (80).

A body fluid collection device includes a long shaft member having a lumen formed along a longitudinal axis, an absorption body configured to expand from an initial state in which a body fluid is not absorbed into the absorption body as the body fluid is absorbed, and having a proximal end portion configured to be disposed in the lumen when a predetermined amount of the body fluid is absorbed into the absorption body, and an identification section for identifying that the absorption body has absorbed the predetermined amount of the body fluid.
