摘要: An instrument for taking a tissue sample is provided with a tissue receiving element (2) that has a distal end (4) and partly consists of a helix (6) comprising the distal end and has an outer surface (8), an inner surface (7), and a central longitudinal axis (X-X'). The helix has a zone (5) whereby for each point of a first intersecting line of the outer surface (8) and a plane of which the central longitudinal axis (X-X') forms part the distance (d) from the outer surface (8) to the longitudinal axis (X-X') is less than the distance (d) between the outer surface (8) and the longitudinal axis (X-X') on every more proximally located point, and whereby for each point of a second intersecting line of the inner surface (7) and an aforementioned plane, the distance (d') from the inner surface (7) to the longitudinal axis (X-X') is greater than the distance (d') from the inner surface (7) to the longitudinal axis (X-X') on every more proximally located point.

摘要: The present invention relates to a medical device, comprising a needle (109). The needle includes a plurality of links (108) and a distal tip (110). Further the needle is reciprocally movable between a first, loose configuration and a second, rigid configuration. The medical device further comprises a conduit (122) including a lumen (124) extending through the needle. The conduit is coupled to the distal tip, wherein longitudinal movement of the conduit is configured to transition the needle between the first, loose configuration and the second, rigid configuration. In the first, loose configuration, various links of the plurality of links are configured to be spaced apart from adjacent links and to loosely ride along the conduit.
