The invention discloses a filter (1) having an inlet mouth (4), through which a contaminated fluid (gas or smokes) can pass to the inside of the filter, at an appropriate temperature, and mixes there with fine water drops and then with liquid nitrogen flowing through showers (9, 10), all of which forming a hail-like mass which precipitates to a decanter (14) where the separation of solidified contaminant particles will take place, said particles coming out to the outside through a discharge valve (15) while clean air will be expelled to the atmosphere through a chimney (17). It is provided, as a second option, to incorporate a coil as a substitution to liquid nitrogen showers mentioned hereabove. Finally, it is to be noted that it is possible to avoid said water drops, depending on the type of contaminated fluid.

A rotational direction reversing switch is provided between the motor and a three-phase plug to permit reversal of the rotational direction of the motor when the motor is determined not to rotation in the intended direction when the plug is connected to a receptacle. The invention relates to a device and method for treating a hot gas flow containing slag and to an entrained-bed gasifier system that comprises the device. The device comprises, in a housing (13), an inlet (2) arranged at the top for the hot gas flow (1), an immersion pipe (3), which is arranged vertically and concentrically in the housing (13) and into which the inlet (2) opens, a coolant bath (14), into which a lower section of the immersion pipe (3) is immersed, and at least one raw gas outlet opening (20) for cooled raw gas that has been freed of slag. The lower section of the immersion pipe (3) is designed as a radially expanded gas distributor bell (12) in the coolant bath (14). Said gas distributor bell (12) is formed by a substantially conical jacket surface having a cross-section that expands downward, wherein the jacket surface has a plurality of gas passage openings (12'), which are distributed over the circumference of the gas distributor bell (12). The dimensions of the gas passage openings (12') increase with the immersion depth in the coolant bath (14).

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zur Abscheidung von Feinstpartikeln aus dem Abgas von Brennkraftmaschinen. Zur Abscheidung von Rußpartikeln bedient man sich gewöhnlicher Filter, welche die negative Eigenschaft haben, daß sie durch Drosselwirkung zu einem spürbaren Mehrverbrauch an Treibstoff führen. Demgegenüber werden Rußpartikel erfindungsgemäß filterlos abgeschieden. Die Abscheidung erfolgt dabei durch Nutzbarmachung der Effekte der Thermophorese, der Konvektion, und der Diffusion, oder durch eine Kombination dieser drei Effekte. Der Drosselverlust bei dieser Art der Abscheidung ist wesentlich geringer. Die Oxidation der abgeschiedenen Rußpartikel erfolgt durch NO 2 , welches in einem vorgeschalteten Katalysator (2) durch katalytische Oxidation von NO mittels des im Abgas enthaltenen Restsauerstoffes entsteht.
