An annular barrel (1) equipped on both sides thereof with rims (2) for securing the bead portions of a tire is provided around its outer peripheral central part with an annular projection (4) of a diameter large enough to project beyond the outer ends of the rims (2). The annular projection (4) is further provided with at least one groove (5) crossing the projection (4). The groove (5) can be employed for facilitating the mounting of the tire onto the wheel.

Das unterchiedliche Schwingungsverhalten ist in der Lauffläche auf die Seiten- und Mittelpitchfolgen, in der Karkasse auf die im Reifenumgang angeordnete, benachbarte Gruppen unterschiedlicher Elastizitätsmoduli zurückzuführen.
