Abstract:
The invention provides a molten process for making compositions comprising anionic, surfactant soap and free fatty acid using a source of divalent cation sufficiently soluble to interact with soluble soaps. This allows greater amounts of soap to be used while retaining good finishing properties.
Abstract:
A detergent package for immersion and dissolution in water (e.g. for laundry wash use) comprises a substantially anhydrous isotropic liquid detergent formulation encapsulating in water soluble film based on polyvinyl alcohol. The detergent formulation comprises an anionic surface active agent and a soap both dissolved in a liquid carrier. The formulation provides good water solubility, good detergency, high water softening power and compatability with the water soluble film.
Abstract:
Disclosed are compositions suitable for formation into mild personal cleansing or laundry detergent bars, as well as other uses. The compositions generally comprise: (a) from about 30 % to about 99 % by weight of a mixture of anionic surfactants comprising: i) an alpha sulfonated alkyl ester; and ii) a sulfonated fatty acid; (b) from about 0.5 % to about 50 % by weight of a fatty acid; and (c) from about 0.1 % to about 50 % by weight water; wherein the ratio of i) to ii) is from about 10:1 to about 0.5:1, and wherein the ratio of (a) to (b) is about 1:1 to about 11:1.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The aqueous floor-cleaning and floor-care agents described contain a synthetic anionic surfactant and a floor-care substance selected from the group comprising waxes and soaps. These agents differ from currently used agents by virtue of the fact that at least 20 % by wt. of the surfactants, including the soaps, contained in the agents are in the form of lithium salts. The agents proposed have very high cleaning power, and the protective film formed on floors cleaned with them exhibits an extremely low tendency to soil.
Abstract:
The present invention encompasses a personal cleansing bar comprising from 10 parts to 70 parts by bar weight of a distilled, topped C12-C18 acyl (topped cocoyl) isethionate (STCI). The bar of this invention contains little or no (0-2.8 parts) highly soluble acyl groups (sodium C6, C8, C10, C18:1 and C18:2 acyl isethionate). The bar of this invention is mild, smells better than a bar made with ordinary sodium cocoyl isethionate (SCI), is more stable in terms of both odor and color, and is easier to make. A preferred STCI bar contains a higher level of moisture without processing negatives which higher level of moisture contributes to better lather. The sodium topped cocoyl isethionate (STCI) also allows for an increase in levels of liquids and hygroscopic materials, in the bar formulation without the usual processing negatives.
Abstract:
Liquid compositions comprising acyloxy alkane sulfonic acid salt, paraffin, water, optional salt reactant, and optional fatty acid are provided which have improved stability and pumpability. Also a method of preparing and a method of storing these compositions are provided utilizing temperature and particle size limitations. The composition, method of making, and method of storing the composition provide improved storage stability, pumpability, and a decrease in processing time for the incorporation of the composition into finished bar formulations.
