The invention is in the field of hard surface cleaning compositions. There is need for compositions that foam copiously during the washing/cleaning stage. However, during the rinse stage, the foam should rinse-off as quickly as possible in minimum number of rinses-cycles so that the process becomes sustainable. Disclosed is an aqueous cleaning composition, having a pH of 6.5 or lower, comprising (i) 3.0 to 25.0 % by weight alkyl ethoxy sulphate; (ii) 1.0 to 5.0 % by weight amphoteric surfactant; (iii) 0.1 to 1.0 % by weight fatty acids being saturated non-hydroxy C8-12 fatty acid and a saturated non-hydroxy C14-18 fatty acid, where ratio of amount of said C8-12 fatty acid to that of said C14-18 fatty acid is from 1:0.1 to 1:10 parts by weight;and (iv) 0.5 to 5 % by weight non-ionic surfactant, wherein (iii) and (iv) together an antifoaming system, and wherein amount of non-alkoxylated anionic surfactant in said composition in less than 1.0 % by weight.

A cleaning composition is particularly suited for cleaning dirty intake valves. The cleaning composition includes a high solvency surfactant/solvent which has a Kb greater than 100 or polar Hansen solubility parameter greater than 6. The surfactant/solvent is combined with a carrier such as water or an organic carrier and a surfactant. A wetting agent may also be employed. A cleaning fluid for a filter, comprising a salt, a non-ionic surfactant and a non-flammable solvent. Preferably the salt is sodium carbonate, trisodium phosphate, sodium metasilicate or any combination thereof, the non-ionic surfactant is an ethylene oxide / propylene oxide block copolymer (0.2-10% wt) and the solvent is water. Preferably all three alkali salts are present, their total amount ranging from 1.5 to 30% wt, preferably from 3 to 5%. The fluid may further contain a corrosion inhibitor (0.05-10% wt) which is a mixture of n-oleoyl sarcosine, 2,2-[[(5-methyl-1H-benzotriazol-1-yl)methyl]imino]bisethanol, 2,2-[[(4-methyl-1H-benzotriazol-1-yl)methyl]imino]bisethanol and methanol. A preferred composition consists of 1-2% wt sodium carbonate, 0.25-1.25% wt trisodium phosphate, 0.5-1.5% wt sodium metasilicate, 0.3-1.5% wt EO/PO block copolymer, 0.05-1% wt corrosion inhibitor and water. The filter is preferably a diesel particulate filter like the ones used in automobiles and vans, i.e. a filter for trapping ash or soot carried by the exhaust gases of diesel internal combustion engines, comprising aluminium, magnesium, zinc and/or cadmium. Cleaning is effected after removing the filter from the vehicle, e.g. in a workshop or garage, by immersing it in the detergent solution, preferably for 10-14 hours at a temperature between 15 and 30oC.

The present invention is to a liquid laundry detergent composition comprising an anionic surfactant, a non-ionic surfactant, between 0.5wt% and 25wt% water and 0.05% and 2% by weight of the composition of a cationic polymer being an hydroxyethyl cellulose polymer derivatised with trimethyl ammonium substituted epoxide, wherein the anionic surfactant comprises fatty acid; and wherein; - the weight ratio of cationic polymer to anionic surfactant is less than 1:5; - the weight ratio of cationic polymer to non-ionic surfactant is more than 1:10; - the weight ratio of cationic polymer to total surfactant is less than 1:5; - and wherein the weight ratio of anionic to non-ionic surfactant is from 5:1 to 23:1, wherein 'total surfactant' means the level of all surfactant present in the liquid laundry detergent composition, including but not limited to all anionic, non-ionic and cationic surfactant.
