    摘要: A threaded joint (10, 20) comprises a coupling (3), a first pin (1, 1'), and a second pin (2, 2'), wherein the thread of the first pin (1, 1') has a pitch different from the pitch of the thread of the second pin (2, 2'). The extremities of the pins (1, 1', 2, 2') have slanted contact surfaces (11, 12) of complementary shape that make mutual contact after make-up of the joint. The slanted common plane of contact of both pins (1, 1', 2, 2') has an angle (α) to the plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (X) of the joint which is greater than 0°. In an alternative embodiment the contact surfaces of the pins (1, 1', 2, 2') are split into two staggered planes (7, 17, 9, 19) and comprise a seal inbetween.

    摘要: A sealant is provided that possesses many or all of the characteristics of conventional thread sealants, and allows application with improved smoothness and uniformity of application. Sealants in accordance with the invention utilize engineered fibers such as melamines like Basofill and polyaramids such as Kevlar in its composition. Engineered fibers offer consistency and uniformity that other previously used sealants lack. Engineered fibers can improve the gap filling characteristics of the sealant, as well as the resistance of the sealant to chemicals and high pressures. Engineered fibers tend to have very high strength and low density.
