    摘要: The assembly (10) for attaching a side shield (28) to an eyewear temple (14) includes a temple (14) having a first side and a second side. A lock member (30) is connected to the first side of the temple (14) with a lock aperture therethrough. A side shield (28), having a laterally running channel (36), is provided with side walls and a pair of channel apertures (46a, 46b) on opposing sides of the channel (36) and aligned with one another transversely across the channel (36). An eyewear temple (14) resides in the channel (36) of the side shield (28) with the lock aperture residing between and aligned with the pair of channel apertures. A lock pin (48), having an upper end and a lower end, is routed through the pair of channel apertures (46a, 46b) and the lock aperture thereby securing the side shield (28) to the temple (14).

Included is a sealing area (26, 28) around the eyes having a web (32, 34) which diverges outwardly in every direction toward the lens frame (21). The lenses 120 can also include optical treatments such as, for example, a partially transmissive mirror coating, tinting, or anti-reflective coatings. In one embodiment, a partially transmissive mirror coating or tinting spectrally filters (see e.g., FlG. 7B) light to remove spectral peaks 720 in fluorescent or incandescent lighting.
