    摘要： A head-mounted device may have a head-mounted support structure. Rear-facing displays may present images to eye boxes at the rear of the head-mounted support structure. A forward-facing publicly viewable display may be supported on a front side of the head-mounted support structure facing away from the rear-facing displays. The forward-facing display may have pixels that form an active area in which images are displayed and may have a ring-shaped inactive border area that surrounds the pixels. A cover layer may cover the forward-facing display and other optical components. The cover layer may have laminates on front and rear surfaces. To protect an edge surface of the cover layer, encapsulation material may be provided on the edge surface or may otherwise separate the edge surface from an exterior of the device.

    摘要： A head-mounted device may have optical modules that present images to a user's eyes. Each optical module may have a lens barrel with a display and a lens that presents an image from the display to a corresponding eye box. To accommodate users with different interpupillary distances, the optical modules may be slidably coupled to guide members such as guide rods. Actuators may slide the optical modules towards or away from each other along the guide rods. The guide rods may be formed from fiber-composite tubes with end caps that are fastened to a frame in the head-mounted device. The tubes may be partly or completely filled with cores to add strength. Low-friction coatings such as metal coatings may be formed on the fiber-composite tubes and the corresponding inner surfaces of the optical module structures that slidably engage the fiber-composite tubes.

    摘要： In an HUD device (3) mounted on a helmet (101), a projection unit (39) configured to project display light to a combiner (73) includes a light emitter (57) configured to emit display light, a housing (61) having a projection opening (63) through which display light emitted from the light emitter passes, and a cover member (65) having transparency to light and disposed to cover the projection opening. The projection unit (39) is incorporated in a chin portion (113) of the helmet body such that display light to be projected to the combiner passes through an optical path portion (119) provided in a mouse cover (115) of the helmet body (105). The cover member is disposed at an inner side of an interior member than a surface of the interior member at which an end of the optical path portion at a light emission side is open.
