A system conveys two gases separately until controlled delivery and gas mixing are desired. The device maintains separation between the two gases with sealed, high temperature materials, and a geometry that contains gas flow channels that do not allow gas mixing. The present design provides a seal at the interfaces between components. An outer ring and an inner spool are assembled together to form a single component that accommodates the input of two, initially separate gases, and then contains and conveys the two gases separately to an exit surface where outlet holes allow the two gases to mix and react in a controlled manner upon exiting the component. The inlet holes for both gases are located on one side of the spool. The exit holes are formed in a centralized, alternating, completely interspersed array or grid-like pattern on the opposite surface of the spool.

The apparatus is adapted to allow the back pressure within the venturi tube (11) to force an increasing proportion of the flow stream to bypass the venturi tube (11) in order to maintain a relatively constant aspiration rate within the venturi tube. The adjustment mechanisms disclosed include a second plate (12), similar to the first plate (10), which is manually rotated and a blocking ring (60) which moves responsive to changes in rate of flow of the fluid flow stream. Helical passages (605) may also be provided at the outlet to promote mixing.

The selector valve has two or more positions and includes a positive stop at each of its positions through the use of moulded plastic parts that interact together to eliminate springs or other components that are tedious to assemble. The entire selector valve is comprised of a minimum of parts and costly lapped surfaces are eliminated by moulding a gasket material to one of the components of the valve. The overall multi-position selector valve is thus inexpensive to manufacture by utilising a minimal number of plastic moulded parts and that are easy to assemble.

The invention relates to a gas valve unit for adjusting a gas volume flow fed to a gas burner of a gas-operated device, particularly a gas cooking appliance. The gas valve unit has a valve body (20), in which valve body (20) at least two valve seats of open-close valves (3) of the gas valve unit are formed, and in which valve body (20) at least two throttle locations (4) each having at least one throttle opening (18) are formed. According to the invention, the valve body (20) has a plurality of plates (12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17) disposed in parallel to each other, one valve sealing plate (12) forming the valve seats of the open-close valves (3) and the throttle openings (18) of the throttle locations (4) being disposed in a throttle plate (15). The valve sealing plate (12) is made of a flexible material, such as plastic.
