The oil pocket communicates with the pressure compartment via at least one second restricted flow zone (34) that is parallel to the first restricted flow zone. The additional volume flow flowing through the second restricted flow zone can be varied by means of a field that influences the viscosity of the electrorheological fluid or ferrofluid.

Es wird ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Schneid- oder Prägewalze mit aus der Oberfläche eines Walzengrundkörpers hervorstehendem Schneidmesser oder Prägevorsprung beschrieben. Dieses Verfahren soll derart weitergebildet werden, dass eine möglichst optimale Homogenität des Schneidmessers bzw. des Prägevorsprungs bei gleichzeitiger Minimierung der Dauer und Kosten des Produktionsprozesses gewährleistet wird. Zur Lösung dieser Aufgabe werden folgende Verfahrensschritte vorgeschlagen: a) Ein- oder mehrschichtiges Auftragen des Schneidmessers oder des Prägevorsprungs auf den Walzengrundkörper mittels Laserauftragsschweißen, wobei die jeweilige Schicht mit Hilfe eines pulverförmigen Zusatzwerkstoffs erzeugt wird, der in einem an der Schweißstelle entstehenden Schmelzbad geschmolzen wird, b) Erfassen der von dem Schmelzbad emittierten Wärme- und/oder Lichtstrahlung zumindest während des Auftragens der jeweiligen Schicht, und c) Steuern oder Regeln der Leistung des zum Laserauftragsschweißen verwendeten Lasers in Abhängigkeit von der emittierten Wärme- und/oder Lichtstrahlung des Schmelzbades derart, dass die Temperatur des Schmelzbades während des Auftragens der jeweiligen Schicht im wesentlichen konstant bleibt.

The user interface module receives mill roll design data from a remote user via a computer network (9). The analysis control script automatically directs the structural analysis engine to define and evaluate an appropriate analytical model for the mill roll design based on the mill roll design data (4). The mill roll analysis system presents an intuitive web-based interface for capturing the mill roll design data, and may present predefined mill roll applications and mill roll types for selection for the user. As a result, the remote user need not be familiar with the underlying analytical modeling techniques, which may be highly-complex by nature. Consequently, a user may utilize the system to evaluate and improve mill roll design in order to achieve increased product performance.

A roll for metal rolling has a roughened surface formed by an electrolytic treatment in an electrolytic solution while using the roll as an anode. When the roll is used to emboss an aluminum plate, it is possible to obtain an aluminum plate with an uneven structure having regulated positions of levels of peaks and a larger number of the peaks. A presensitized plate formed by use of the aluminum plate as a support has excellent printing performances particularly in the number of printed sheets and sensitivity.
