    摘要: A single layer multi-silane coating construct displays controlled covalent attachment between biological materials and microscope slide substrates. Choice of various silanation reagents and their mix ratios provides control over the overall hydrophilic/hydrophobic surface behavior, attachment site density, and reactive moiety type. Both two-dimensional (2d) and three-dimensional (3d) configurations use the same foundation basics. Improved biological adhesion and fluid flow during subsequent processing is achieved. The 3d configuration offers conformal adhesion for those tissue materials that are not monotonically flat as well as multiple point capture of protein/peptides.

    摘要: An aluminum nitride powder having the surface treated with an organosilane represented by formula, R I a R II b SiY 4-1-b , and/or a partial hydrolysis condensate thereof to acquire excellent moisture-proof, wherein R I represents a 6-20C alkyl group or a group formed by substituting halogen atom or atoms for part or all of the hydrogen atoms attached to carbon atoms of the 6-20C alkyl group, R II represents a 1-20C hydrocarbon group or a group formed by substituting halogen atom or atoms for part or all of the hydrogen atoms attached to carbon atoms of the 1-20C hydrocarbon group, Y represents a hydrolyzable group, a is an integer of 1 to 3 and b is an integer of 0 to 2, provided that a+b is an integer of 1 to 3; and a thermally conductive grease composition comprising (A) 50-95 weight % of the aforementioned surface-treated aluminum nitride powder and (B) 5 to 50 weight % of at least one base oil selected from the group consisting of liquid silicones, liquid hydrocarbons and fluorohydrocarbon oils, and further, if desired, (C) 0-30 weight % of a thicknener selected from the group consisting of zinc oxide, alumina, boron nitride and silicon carbide powders.

    摘要: A process for producing an organophilic clay comprises:

    (a) milling and refining a raw clay selected from the group of smectite clays in order to obtain a milled and refined clay;
    (b) replacing the exchangeable cations of the refined clay with sodium or ammonium cations, by means of a cation-exchange treatment;
    (c) contacting the cation-exchanged clay with a sulfonated condensed-ring polycyclic aromatic compound in order to obtain an organophilic clay; and
    (d) recovering the organophilic clay from the products obtained from the preceding (c) step.

    The so obtained organophilic clay is particularly useful as a thixotropic agent in organic vehicles, in particular in oil-base drilling muds.
