The oil compound comprises (A) from 30 to 98.9% by weight of an α,ω-dihydroxy diorganopolysiloxane, (B) from 0.1 to 20% by weight of a poly(organohydroxy siloxane) such as 1,1,1,3,5,7,7,7-octamethyl-3,5-dihydroxy tetrasiloxane and (C) from 1 to 50% by weight of a finely divided silica powder having a specific surface area of at least 100 m 2 /g.

Disclosed is a novel polypropylene resin composition which is outstandingly free from surface tackiness and still has good transparency so as to be useful as a material of resin films used for wrapping. The resin composition comprises, as a uniform blend, (a) 100 parts by weight of a polypropylene resin, and (b) from 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of an inorganic oxide powder which is a product obtained by the deflagration of an inorganic oxidizable powder, e.g., an elementary silicon powder, in an oxidizing atmosphere such as air. By virtue of the unique method for the preparation of the silicon dioxide powder, the particles have high surface activity so that the surface properties of the resin composition or, in particular, resin films prepared therefrom can be greatly improved even with a relatively small amount of the inorganic oxide powder compounded as an anti-blocking agent not to badly affect the transparency.

A grease composition used for assisting radiation of heat from electronic devices or machines comprises, by weight, (1) 100 parts of a photocurable organopolysiloxane having a viscosity at 25°C of 0.5 - 1000 m².s⁻¹ (50-100,000 cSt) and (i) represented by the general formula R¹ a R² b R³ c SiO (a+b+c))/2 where a , b and c are defined respectively by 0.01 n SH wherein n is 1 - 8 (preferably 3), R² is a monofunctional hydrocarbon group containing a C2-8 aliphatic unsaturated group (e.g. vinyl), and R³ is an optionally substituted (e.g. halogenated) monofunctional C1-18 hydrocarbon group and/or (ii) a combination of organopolysiloxanes each of said viscosity and one containing at least 2 mercaptoalkyl groups as defined for R¹ and another containing at least 2 monofunctional hydrocarbon groups as defined for R², (2) 100-900 (preferably 150-400) parts of a thickener which is a powdered inorganic compound having good heat conductivity, e.g. ZnO, Al₂O₃, AlN, BN or SiC, and optionally (3) a curing accelerator or photosensitizer. The mixed composition readily cures in natural or artificial light. It is used to assist removal of heat generated in the use of electronic components used in electrical applicances, audio systems and industrial equipment; the grease which is squeezed or bled to the exterior is there photocured and does not soil the surrounding area.

Novel organic silicon compounds having a UV absorbing benzotriazole or benzophenone skeleton are provided comprising R¹₃SiO 1/2 and SiO₂ units as essential units, 0 to 20 mol% of R²SiO 3/2 and R³₂SiO units, and 0 to 20 mol% of R³₂SiO units. The siloxane units are present in a molar ratio: (R¹₃SiO 1/2 + R²SiO 3/2 + R³₂SiO)/SiO₂ of from 0.5 to 1.5. A benzotriazole or benzophenone-bearing group constitutes 1 to 33 mol% of the total quantity of the organic groups represented by R¹, R² and R³ while the remainder is a monovalent saturated or unsaturated organic group or groups having 1 to 18 carbon atoms. Cosmetic compositions containing the same compounds have improved UV absorbing capacity.
