The at least one mode signaling syntax element is employed to determine whether at least one final reference picture list is the same for all slices of a same slice type in the picture (3). The at least one mode signaling syntax element thereby signals to a decoder (100) that it does not necessarily have to repeat computationally complex reference picture list construction functions for each slice in the picture (3).

摘要: A method executed in the decoder is provided for determining the resolution of a motion vector specifying a reference block on the basis of the smoothness of pixels in a block, the position of this block being an approximation of the position of the reference block. If the block is considered smooth a first resolution will be accurate, while if the block is considered to be non-smooth, one or more refinement bits will be expected for adaptation at the decoder. A method executed in an encoder, capable of providing pictures to a decoder is also provided, as well as a decoder and encoder configured to execute the described methods.

摘要: An image processing method involves determining a global motion (50) between a reference frame (20) and a current frame (10) in a frame sequence (1). A reference block (28) is identified in the reference frame (20) for a current block (12) based on the global motion (50). A classification parameter is calculated based on the pixel values of the current block (12) and the reference block (28). The parameter can be used for classifying the block (12) as belonging to the background or foreground of the current frame (10). The parameter is preferably also utilized in frame rate-up conversion when extrapolating or interpolating new frames (30).

摘要: In a method for decoding a video bitstream, an intra random access point, IRAP, picture is decoded. A dependent random access point, DRAP, picture is identified in the bitstream using only an associated supplemental enhancement information, SEI, message. The IRAP picture precedes the DRAP picture in output and decoding order. The DRAP picture is decoded using only the IRAP picture and/or one or more other DRAP pictures following the IRAP picture and preceding the DRAP picture, in output and decoding order, as a reference picture(s). The DRAP picture and the reference picture(s) constitutes a random access point in the bitstream. The DRAP picture is a trailing picture that may be referenced by pictures following the DRAP picture in decoding order. A non-RAP picture following the DRAP picture in output and decoding order is decoded, the non-RAP picture not using any picture preceding the DRAP picture in decoding order as a reference picture that is not a reference picture of the DRAP picture.

摘要: A pixel pre-processing comprises subsampling a linear color in a first color space to obtain a subsampled linear color in the first color space. A first transfer function is applied to the subsampled linear color in the first color space to obtain a subsampled non-linear color in the first color space. A first color transform is applied to the subsampled non-linear color in the first color space to obtain a subsampled first non-linear chroma component value and/or a subsampled second non-linear chroma component value in a second color space. A non-linear luma component value in the second color space is derived for the pixel, which together with the subsampled non-linear chroma component values represent a color the pixel. The pre-processing reduces chroma artifacts that may otherwise occur when chroma subsampling is performed following application of the first transfer function and the first color transform.
