摘要： There is disclosed a method of preventing corrosion of the liquid contacting surface of a stainless steel base part of an electric liquid heating vessel. According to the method the surface is provided with a layer of glass, glass ceramic or ceramic. The surface is preferably pre-treated by grit blasting with alumina grit having a nominal size of 180-220 mesh. The grit blasting technique may be used to treat other steel surfaces which are to receive a glass layer.

Movement of the cam member 137 in the other direction does not result in movement of the collar until the dog teeth 166,168 again engage and return the collar 154 to its original position.

摘要： A printed circuit "plate" heater 10 comprises an insulated steel disc having conductive tracks (18 etc.) deposited thereon. Live 11 and neutral 12 terminals are formed in the centre. Towards the circumference of the heater, is an unheated conductive ring 15 connecting eight discrete thermal fuses 16 designed to blow at 180° (ie. serious overheat condition). 摘要： A liquid heating apparatus comprises a heating vessel (2), a drain valve (5), and a bimetallic actuator (8) for controlling the drain valve. A small volume of liquid is partially isolated from the main volume of liquid in the vessel within an isolating chamber (3). The temperature of the liquid in the chamber (3) lags behind that of the liquid in the main volume, until at a critical temperature, the main volume of liquid becomes sufficiently turbulent to mix with and displace the liquid in the chamber (3). The actuator (8) senses the rapid rise in temperature of the liquid in the chamber (3) and opens the valve (5). The valve (5) cooperates with a trip lever (30) of a switching mechanism (23) to cut off the supply of energy to the heater (20) of the apparatus when the actuator operates to open the valve (5).
