An electromotive adjustment device for adjustable flap valves, which comprises a housing and which is provided with a drive motor whose driven journal is coupled to a transmission. Said adjustment device is embodied in such a way that the dimensions of the housing are reduced in comparison to other known adjustment devices and no electric switching is required for the two directions of rotation of the actuating member. According to the invention, the driven journal of the drive motor (10) is provided with teeth, or a spur-toothed wheel is placed on the journal in a rotationally fixed manner. At least the wheel of the transmission which is engaged therewith is a slanted-toothed spur-toothed wheel. The teeth of the driven journal of the drive motor or the spur-toothed wheel placed thereon are embodied in the form of treble- teeth. The driven member (21) of the transmission is coupled to a hollow shaft which is guided through two opposite openings of the housing (11) in such a way that the front shafts associated with the hollow shaft (22) can be selectively connected to the actuating member according to the direction of rotation of said connected actuating member. The electromotive adjustment device is especially suited for adjusting flap valves in heating, air conditioning and ventilation technology.

Said gearbox further comprises an input shaft (4) and a main shaft (20) that is mounted coaxially with respect tot the input shaft (4). A gearwheel is mounted between the input shaft (4) and the main shaft (20). Said gearwheel (24) is mounted axially in a bearing (26, 28) between the input shaft (4) and the main shaft (20) and is radially mounted solely between the gearwheels of the two countershafts. The bearing (26, 28) may constitute the exclusive axial bearing between the input shaft (4) and the main shaft (20). Said axial bearing consists of two axially effective roller bearings (26, 28) that contact the both sides of a journal (30) of the gearwheel (24).

A transfer gear train (30,32,36) including a gear member supported on each axis is connectible to the input shaft through a forward friction clutch (24) for drivingly connecting the input shaft and the countershaft through a one-way drive (34) connection to the output shaft. The transfer gear train provides the first and lowest forward drive ratio between the input and output shafts through the one-way drive connection. A plurality of friction clutches on the input and countershafts and associated reaction gears on the shafts are selectively operable to provide a plurality of higher forward ratios during which the one-way device permits the output shaft to overrun the transfer gear mounted thereon.
