In a preferred embodiment the apparatus comprises a brace applicable between the legs of the poultry and supports applicable underneath the wings of the poultry.

    摘要： Method and device for mechanical removal of the viscera package (26) from the belly cavity of slaughtered poultry (24) hanging by the legs from hooks (22) which are moved in a conveyor (2) along a drawing device (36). For removal of the viscera package (26), the body of the poultry (24) is tilted from the hanging, vertical position through a predetermined angle about an axis (20) parallel to a line through the hip joints to a second position, in which the shoulder joints are situated at essentially the same height as or higher up than the hip joints. The latter body position thereafter remains retained during the veterinary inspection of the poultry (24) or the carrying out of further operations on the viscera package (26) and/or the carcass. The second position of the body is preferably produced by guiding at least a part of the neck (28) of the poultry (24) from a position lower down than the legs to a position in which the neck (28) is situated essentially at the same height as or higher up than the legs, and the body of the poultry (24) extends between the neck (28) and the legs.

Next, the liver is separated from the remainder of the viscera by increasing the distance between the liver and the gall-bladder, and cutting through the tissue connecting the liver and the gall-bladder.
