The inside of the filter tank (11) is divided into a first filter tank portion (51) and a second filter tank portion (52) by the primary filter (40). Sludge (S) deposited at the bottom of the first filter tank portion (51) is conveyed toward a sludge discharge portion (16) by a first portion (21a) of the scraper (21). A liquid (Q1) in the first filter tank portion (51) is filtered by the primary filter (40) and flows into the second filter tank portion (52). A liquid (Q2) in the second filter tank portion (52) is filtered by the secondary filter (60) and supplied to a clean tank (12). The sludge (S) adhering to the secondary filter (60) is dropped onto the primary filter (40) and discharged toward the first filter tank portion (51) by a second portion (21b) of the scraper (21).

There is described a fluid treatment system comprising: (i) a fluid inlet; (ii) a fluid outlet; and (iii) a fluid treatment zone in fluid communication with the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The fluid treatment zone comprises a housing within which is disposed a fluid separation section (the separation section may include a single separation device or a combination of two or more similar or disimilar separation devices) and a fluid radiation section in fluid communication with one another. The fluid separation section removes solids in the fluid and the fluid radiation section irradiates the fluid to deactive microorganisms in the fluid. The fluid separation section and the fluid radiation section are configured to have a substantially common fluid flow path which significantly reduces the space or footprint requirement of and/or significantly reduces hydraulic head loss (pressure drops) in the overall fluid treatment system while allowing the two sections to perform their respective functions.

A self-cleaning water filtration system includes a pre-filter to filter oils and relatively medium sized particles in a water flow, a multi-stage filter to purify and provide a second level of filtration to the water flow, and a self-cleaning filter to provide a third level of filtration to the water flow. Water flow through the filter media of the self-cleaning filter is redirected to flush waste to a containment-tank filter. The self-cleaning filter has a purge output, which may spray the pre-filter to substantially remove particles from the pre-filter for collection in the containment tank. The multi-stage filter may have at least two layers of filter media. The pre-filter may be disposable and comprised of a mineral sanitizer positioned between two layers of an oil absorbing fabric. The water flow through the filter media of the self-cleaning filter may be redirected in response to an occurrence of either a change in output water pressure or an indication from a timer occurring on a regular basis. In some embodiments, 100% filtration of water is provided.

In der Filtervorrichtung werden Staudruck- und Venturi-Effekte ausgenutzt, um den Filtervorgang zu unterstützen. Während der Ableitung des Filtrats wird Trübe zugeführt, um die Filtervorrichtung im Füllzustand zu halten. Die aufkonzentrierte Trübe wird chargenweise in eine Preßkammer überführt, in der die entnommene Charge mechanisch ausgepreßt wird. Der so entstandene Preßkuchen wird mechanisch zerkleinert.
