摘要: 'Electromagnetic spring' characteristics can be obtained in a voice coil actuator by deliberately selecting some or all of geometry, location of the housing, field assembly and coils, and/or magnitude and direction of the current applied to the coils; for example, predetermined bi-directional spring characteristics can be provided by appropriate deliberate selection of the relative dimensions of the housing and field assembly, and the spring characteristics can be further altered though the addition of structures, such as a radially magnetized magnet, or a soft magnetic extension, positioned at an end of the housing, and/or by applying current of a selected magnitude and direction to the coil assembly.

摘要: A magnetic body includes a plurality of laminated inner layers and an insulating enclosure fully enclosing the inner layers therein. The inner layers include a first or central metal layer, each one of upper and lower sides of which is sequentially provided with a first insulating layer, a second metal layer, a filter layer, a second insulating layer, a third metal layer, and a light-absorbing material layer. Each of the metal layers is negatively charged and formed by coating a specific high-temperature vaporized metal element on an entire surface of an insulating body. The filter layer is woven from an insulating material and has at least 144 millions of meshes per square inch. The light-absorbing material layer stores pre-absorbed light energy. Themagneticbody with the above-described structure produces a radial magnetic field of force that provides enhanced magnetizing effect.

摘要: The present invention is a two or more-piece cascading armature for use in a solenoid. The cascading armature comprises a core (174) of conductive material slidably disposed within at least one conductive sleeve (176), which, in turn, is disposed in the solenoid housing. The core and sleeve are operably linked. In various embodiments, the cascading armature may contain multiple conductive sleeves in varying sizes and proportions to the core. When the cascading armature is installed in the conductive housing, both the sleeve rim (179) and the core face (172) are presented to the pole member face across the working air gap. In the deactivated position the working air gap is different for the core and the sleeve because the rim of the sleeve extends beyond the core and is accordingly closer to the pole member face than the core.

摘要: A compact circuit breaker (10) in an enclosure (24) surrounding at least one stationary contact (38) and movable contact (40). A rotary operator (104) including rotary members (106) and a contact lever train (82) selectively causes the stationary contact (38) and the movable contact (40) to assume either a closed or an open state. A single solenoid (44) for sensing breaker current in each phase causes the rotary operator (104) to move the contacts (40) from a closed state to an open state. Additionally, the solenoid (44) for a faulted phase directly acts on a solenoid bell crank (84) to cause the contact (40) to begin to assume an open state in a trip operation, if breaker current reaches a preselected trip value in the faulted phase. The rotary operator (104) causes all contacts to move from a closed to an open position by initiating a trip operation in the contact lever trains (82).

摘要: A unitary superconducting electromagnet (10) especially adapted for use in medical or test apparatus with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and spectroscopy at intensities above the magnetic saturation of iron as high as around ten (10) Tesla. The electromagnet (10) includes an inner generally cylindrical body (12) having a central bore (14) and an outer magnetic iron body (16) positioned concentrically about the inner body (12). One embodiment of the electromagnet (10) has adjusting blocks (110) secured to the inner body (12) for movement of the inner body (12) radially and longitudinally of the outer body (16) for precise positioning. Another embodiment shown in Figures 16-18 illustrates a small bore electromagnet (10A) having the inner body (12A) fixed relative to outer magnetic iron body (16A) with the outer body (16A) being exposed to the cooling fluid.
