摘要:
A stapler (1) has a cutter unit (12) for cutting the tips of staple legs projected from the back surface side of a sheet. A cutting debris reception section (23) for receiving cutting debris of the staple legs is formed in a staple cartridge (20). The cutting debris of the staple legs cut by the cutter unit (12) is guided into the cutting debris reception section (23) of the staple cartridge (20) by a chute (22) formed at the cutter unit (12). The cutting debris of the staple legs is collected in the staple cartridge (20).

An electric stapler, wherein a click stop mechanism having a clincher unit 103 and a driver unit 104 rotatably mounted thereon fixedly at 0°or 45°rotating position is mounted on two slide bases 106 running, in synchronism with each other, on linear guides 105 vertically disposed parallel with each other, claw parts 119, 120 corresponding to 0°and 45°rotating positions are installed on the outer peripheral parts of the click stop mechanisms, a stopper pin 121 is disposed in a running route, when the driver unit and the clincher unit are run from an initial position to a diagonal binding position, the 0°claw part 119 comes into contact with the stopper pin 121 and the driver unit and the clincher unit are rotated and fixed to the 45°rotating position, and when these units are run reversely to the initial position, the 45°claw part 120 comes into contact with the stopper pin 121 and is returned and fixed to 0°position.

A driver (12) is liftably installed. Of staples (1) connected in a sheet form, one formed in a letter C shape, positioned at the extreme fore-end of the staples, is pressed by a pusher (13) against a guide surface (15) so as to be opposed to the head of the driver (12). A support surface (13b) is provided on the pusher (13) so as to be positioned at a lower portion near the center of the staples (1) and such that a part of the support surface (13b) projects to be exposed in a staple (1) that is positioned at the extreme fore-end and formed at least in a substantially letter C shape. This prevents cutting noise from being produced when a staple in an extreme fore-end position is peeled off from the next positioned staple in order to drive the staple in the extreme fore-end position into the sheets of paper to be bound.

A staple leg cutting mechanism 5 is composed of a fixed cutter 6 interposed between staple legs S1 penetrated through binding sheets and a pair of movable cutters 7 disposed movable from the outside of the staple legs S1 to the inside thereof, and a clincher mechanism 10 is composed of a pair of movable clinchers 11 respectively disposed on the lower surface side of their associated movable cutters 7, whereby the staple legs S1 penetrated through the binding sheets are formed in an inwardly curved manner by the movable clinchers 11 and are then guided into and between the movable cutters 7 and fixed cutter 6, the movable cutters 7 are moved from the outside of the staple legs S1 to the inside thereof to thereby cut the leading end portions of the staple legs S1, and the staple legs S1 are bent along the binding sheets by the movable clinchers 11.

A supply reel (1) for staple wire (13) is provided with a holder (2) on which the leading end of the staple wire is held by clamping. The holder (2) is held positively and/or non-positively on the reel flanges (1a) of the supply reel (1). The holder (2) is configured to be removable from the supply reel (1) and placeable on a finishing unit (10). Upon placement onto a finishing unit (10), clamping of the staple wire (13) is abolished. Arranged on the holder (2) are oil-impregnated felt pads (8, 9) between which the staple wire (13) is guided. The holder (2) is provided at both of its ends with flexible guide tubes (6, 7) which prevent bending of the leading end of the wire and protect the user from injury.

A feed roller 32 is disposed in a magazine section 1 in a state that the feed roller 32 is in press contact with the lower side of a sheet-like staple fed out of a cartridge 13. A rack is formed in the support means of the magazine section 1. The feed roller 32 is operatively coupled with the magazine section 1 through a one-way clutch gear 34 in mesh with the rack 33. Only when the magazine section 1 separates from the clincher section 4, the one-way clutch gear 34 operates to rotate the feed roller 32 in the staple supply direction. A quantity of rotation of the one-way clutch gear 34 can be adjusted by a gear ratio of the combination of the one-way clutch gear 34 and the rack 33. Therefore, a sufficient quantity of feeding the sheet-like lowest staple is secured. The feed roller 32 is rotated by utilizing the forward/backward motion of the magazine section 1 with respect to the clincher section. Because of this, provision of any special drive means for rotation is not required.
