    摘要: This is an improvement for a powered floor scrubber (10) which in use is moved forward and backward across a floor to be scrubbed. A scrub brush (22) is rotated within a housing (20) which is open at the bottom and water is supplied within the housing. The improvement consists of attaching double lipped suction squeegees (34, 36, 42, 44) at both the front and rear of the housing and connecting them both to a source (48) of vacuum to suck up soiled water from the floor. The flexible squeegee lips are mounted in such a way that as the machine is moved forward the lips of the front squeegee fold together and shut off the airflow to it while the rear squeegee remains functional. When the machine is moved backward a reverse action of the squeegees occurs, so that there is always a functional squeegee sucking up soiled water behind the scrub brush while airflow to the opposite squeegee is shut off whether the machine is moving forward or backward.

    摘要: A crosslinked and chain extended urethane-epoxy copolymer coating with high performance properties typical of two part urethane solution coatings results from cure at ambient temperatures (e.g. 70°F) when the two aqueous systems are merely mixed, stirred and spread at the site. One aqueous system is a dispersion of polyepoxides. The other aqueous system is a primary amine-terminated urethane oligomer in which no less than about 25% and no more than about 40% of the amine functionality is substituted by a salt of a volatile acid which aids dispersion of the oligomer. Minimal organic solvent is present, and as the acid evaporates, the primary amine is restored for linking with the epoxy groups.

    摘要: An unmanned, self-propelled vehicle in the nature of a mobile robot has an on-board computer that stores path and machine function instructions and activates the drive and steering systems so as to cause the machine to follow a desired path. A plurality of retroreflective targets are mounted along the desired path. They do not have to be mounted at a specific height or distance apart, nor need they be square to the path. An improved guidance system for keeping the vehicle on the prescribed path includes a laterally scanning laser transmitter-receiver mounted on the vehicle. An electromechanical tracking device controls the angle of elevation of the laser beam so as to keep it aimed at each target successively as the vehicle moves. The laser produces signals which steer the vehicle such that the laser transmitter and targets are kept aligned in a vertical plane. A positioning device can move the laser transmitter transversely on the vehicle so that the vehicle centerline may travel in the vertical plane of the laser or may travel in an offset line parallel to the vertical laser plane. Certain ones of the targets are bar coded and a target counter senses and counts them as the machine moves past them to keep track of where the vehicle is located along its desired path. A motion sensing system using reflective microwave sensors provides speed and distance information.

    摘要: In a combination sweeping, polishing and scrubbing floor maintenance machine (10), the present invention includes a debris hopper (24; 84) removably positioned in a frame (21) secured to a portion of the machine (10). The debris hopper (24; 84) has a rearward opening (25) facing a pair of substantially side-by-side disc tools, e.g. brushes (20a, 20b; 82, 83). The brushes preferably rotate in the same rotational direction with one brush (20a; 82) positioned slightly ahead of the other brush (20b; 83). Immediately in front of the forward edge of the leading brush (20a; 82) is a conduit means (28) secured to the hopper (24; 84). Adjacent the conduit means (28) and extending along the hopper opening is a flexible member (32). Both the flexible member (32) and the conduit means (28) serve as debris receiving means for directing swept debris upwardly into the debris hopper (24; 84). Blade members (37, 38) may be provided forward of the debris receiving means and beneath the hopper (24, 84) to guide debris into a central area of the machine's path of travel. There may be more than one pair of brushes (120,120a; 121, 121 a) with a further brush (120b) common to the pairs.
