    摘要: Autonomous planar surface cleaning robots are disclosed. The robot includes a main body having a bottom portion defining an outer portion defining a surface area about a perimeter thereof and an inner portion defining a cavity formed within the outer portion. The main body supports a driving mechanism, a vacuum source, a vacuum sensor, and a control unit. The vacuum source, cavity, and vacuum sensor are in fluid communication. The control unit is electrically coupled to the driving mechanism, the vacuum source, and the vacuum sensor, and is configured to control the robot to turn direction when the control unit receives a signal from the vacuum sensor indicating that a degree of vacuum pressure within the cavity is below a predetermined vacuum pressure. Also disclosed is robot that includes multiple vacuum sources. Also disclosed is an apparatus that includes a connector pole.

    摘要: An improved system (22) for cleaning vertical walls includes a vacuum source (28) to adhere the system (22) to the wall, and removes fluid and removed material therefrom. A rotating fluid jet is positioned radially inwardly of the vacuum source (28) and impinges high pressurized fluid on the wall surface. In a preferred embodiment, a central portion (26) mounts the fluid source (38) and the vacuum source (28). A base portion (24) mounts motors (40) for driving the system (22) along the wall. The base portion (24) rotates relative to the central portion (26) such that the central portion (26) does not move as the base portion (24) turns on the wall to drive the system (22) along the wall. An additional air flow system can be provided to provide supplemental air flow to help move fluid material. In a second embodiment, a seal (190) for contacting the surface to be cleaned includes a plurality of brush bristles (154). The brush bristles (154) ensure good contact with the wall.
