The present invention relates to a novel medical use of interferon-γ. This invention describes that interferon-γ can be used for the treatment of all forms of interstitial lung diseases. The invention reveals in addition that, above all, a combinatorial administration of interferon-γ together with a glucocorticoid may be used successfully even for the long-term therapy of said disease.
