The disclosure relates to a method in the forming of packaging containers (1) which have sealing fins in which the packaging material is sealed inside-to-inside, and also projecting, double-walled corner flaps (8). In order to form a parallelepipedic packaging container, the corner flaps are folded down and sealed to the outside of the packaging container, which subjects a sealing fin running between the corner flaps to stresses which may entail untightness in the packaging container. This is avoided in that the sealing fin, prior to the downward folding operation, is deformed in that at least a portion of the fin (4) is laterally displaced in relation to adjacent portions of the fin.

A flat end closure arrangement for a thermoplastic coated paperboard container, and the blank therefor, wherein four sets of dual, oppositely skewed, supplementary score lines (82, 84, 86, 88, 90, 92, 94, 96) are formed on two sides of the resultant end closure, such that they are adapted to be folded into position just inside the usual horizontal score lines (16) separating the end closure panels from the sidewall panels. These supplementary score lines provide a second, substantially 90o bend for the paperboard layers, supplementing a 90o bend about the respective horizontal score lines, in lieu of each usual 180o bend about the respective horizontal score lines, thereby diminishing the chances for cracking of the thermoplastic coating at the bend locations.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine quaderförmige Giebelpackung für Schüttgüter aus einem Kunststoffmehrschichtverbund auf Trägermaterial, deren Kopf durch eine Stegnaht unter Bildung zweier an den Endabschnitten der Stegnaht doppelt liegender, dreieckiger Faltlappen verschlossen ist, wobei je ein Faltlappen um je eine gerade verlaufende Knickkante auf die jeweilige Seitenwand nach außen umgelegt ist und das Packungsmaterial längs- und quer- bzw. schrägverlaufende Nutlinien für die Korpus- und Boden- bzw. Giebelkanten aufweist. An einer derartigen Packung ist es vorgesehen, im Giebelbereich zu den senkrechten Korpusnutlinien wenigstens eine außerhalb der Flucht der Korpusnutlinien verlaufende Hilfsnutlinie anzubringen, wodurch erreicht wird, daß bei der Herstellung von dickwandigen Packungen und letztendlich beim Verschließen derselben in der Füllmaschine die Haltbarkeit des Stegnahtverschlusses in seiner ursprünglichen Erstellungsform erhalten wird, was bei Packungen mit verhältnismäßig dicken Verbundmaterialien bedeutet, daß Stegnahtbrüche nunmehr vermieden werden.
