A method of optimizing operation of a furnace to control emission within a system. Each furnace zone inside of the furnace is associated with at least one exhaust zone. A signal indicative of an amount of byproduct exiting the furnace through at least one of the exhaust zones is received from one or more of the sensors. Based on this signal, an offending furnace zone is identified from among the plurality of furnace zones, the offending furnace zone including an oxygen level contributing to the amount of the byproduct. A relative adjustment of at least one of an amount of oxygen being introduced into the offending furnace zone, and an angular orientation of an oxygen injector introducing oxygen into the offending furnace zone relative to a focal region within the furnace can be initiated. The furnace may have structure to perform the method and may be part of a system.

Dabei ist die Überwachungseinrichtung und/oder die Brennersteuerung (5) derart ausgestaltet, dass sie den aktuell ermittelten Druck mit einem vorbestimmten Grenzwert vergleicht und/oder sie eine aus einem aktuell ermitteltem Druck und einem Druck einer korrespondierenden Sammelleitung gebildete Druckdifferenz Δp mit einem vorbestimmten Grenzwert vergleicht. Die Überwachungseinrichtung und/oder die Brennersteuerung (5) gibt ferner ein eine Undichtigkeit des keramischen Strahlheizrohres (3) anzeigendes Signal aus, wenn der aktuell ermittelte Druck den vorbestimmten Grenzwert unterschreitet und/oder wenn die aus aktuell ermitteltem Druck und einem Druck einer korrespondierenden Sammelleitung gebildete Druckdifferenz Δp einen vorbestimmten Grenzwert überschreitet.

The invention relates to the art of coal processing and is useful in power engineering and chemical industry for manufacturing coal adsorbents, metallurgical semicoke, and a generator or process gas. A method is proposed for coal processing, this method comprising firing of coal inside an air-tight chamber, measuring temperature inside the chamber along the height thereof, removing gas at the top of the chamber, and supplying a gasifying agent from the bottom upward. The coal processing is carried out while maintaining optimized values of the temperature difference between the burning coal bed and the gas at the outlet thereof from the chamber. An apparatus for carrying out this method consists of chamber 1 and contains gas-temperature and coal temperature sensors 6, these sensors, which are electrically connected to air-flow controller 11 via control unit 12 providing an option of automatic air-supply control depending on the difference between the maximal burning coal bed temperature and the outlet gas temperature. Use of the coal processing method and the apparatus for the implementation thereof provides an enhancement of the process productivity without deteriorating the parameters or composition of processing products.

Im Steuergerät wird ein Kennfeld von Gebläsekennlinien (71, 72, 73, 74) abgelegt, die jeweils einer bestimmten Schaltdrehzahl n x zuordenbar sind. Anhand der ermittelten Schaltdrehzahl n x wird aus dem Kennfeld von Gebläsekennlinien (71, 72, 73, 74 eine Gebläsekennlinien K x als Betriebskennlinie ausgewählt, nach der das Heizgerät arbeitet.
