The method performed by the access node comprises transmitting a broadcast message in a cell served by the access node. The message indicates that the access node supports connectivity to at least one core network associated with another RAN than the standalone LTE RAN. The method also comprises receiving a request to attach from a wireless device in the cell, for establishing a secure connection for user data between the wireless device and a target core network via the access node. The method further comprises transmitting a request to a target core network node to establish the secure connection.

The source gateway comprises a Multipath Transmission Control Protocol (MPTCP) proxy for a TCP flow between the radio device and a peer. The subflows comprises a first subflow over the first wireless access network and a second subflow over a second wireless access network. The method comprises receiving uplink data of the second subflow from a second gateway logically positioned in the second wireless access network between the radio device and a second mobility anchor, and sending downlink data of the second subflow to said second gateway. The method also comprises moving the proxy from the source gateway to a target gateway logically positioned in the first wireless access network between the radio device and the first mobility anchor, as part of a handover of the radio device within the first wireless access network. The method also comprises, after having moved the proxy to the target gateway, forwarding downlink data of both the first and second subflows to the target gateway, and forwarding the received uplink data of the second subflow to the target gateway.

A method for deploying a policy from a 3GPP core network to a non-3GPP access network. The policy relates to a connection established from a mobile terminal to the 3GPP core network via the non-3GPP access network. A local IP address acquired by the mobile terminal during establishment of the connection is received at the 3GPP core network. At the 3GPP core network, establishment of a policy control session is initiated from the 3GPP core network to the non-3GPP access network. The received local IP address is used to determine the non-3GPP access network used for the connection with reference to shared IP addressing information. At the 3GPP core network, the policy is provided to the non-3GPP access network using the policy control session established as a result of the policy control session initiation step. The policy is for deployment in the non-3GPP access network in relation to the established connection.
