    摘要: The invention is an improved belt tensioner for a belt drive system having a belt tensioner, a first belt tensioner pulley, a crankshaft pulley, an accessory pulley, and a power transmission belt trained about the first belt tensioner, crankshaft, and accessory pulleys. The belt tensioner is of the type that includes an attachment point adapted to be affixed to a stationary point relative to a cylinder block of an engine, a track, and a first carrier mounted in sliding relation with the track with two degrees freedom of movement. The first belt tensioner pulley is rotatably mounted upon the first carrier for engaging the power transmission belt. A resilient member biases the first carrier in longitudinal relation to the track. The improvement comprises the tensioner including a travel limiting mechanism.

    摘要: The invention comprises a belt tensioner (100) having a pivot arm (10) biased toward a belt by a torsion spring (30). The tensioner (100) also comprises a one-way clutch (36) coupled with a friction clutch (42). The pivot arm (10) of the tensioner (100) is connected to a one-way clutch (36). The one-way clutch (36) is cooperatively connected to a friction clutch (42) having a predetermined friction torque caused by frictionally engaged radially extending surfaces. The pivot arm may move relatively freely toward a belt by operation of the one-way clutch (36). At the limit of arm movement the one-way clutch (36) engages, preventing travel away from the belt in an opposite direction. The arm (10) may only travel away from the belt when a belt tension torque exceeds the spring (30) force plus a friction torque of the friction clutch (42).

    摘要: A tensioner having a base (2), a spring (1) connected to the base (2) biases a plate (4), having a pulley (7), toward a belt. Frictional blocks (9, 10) are aligned on the base (2) in a staggered fashion along a spring (1) centerline. The plate (4) slidingly moves in a linear path between the blocks (9, 10). The blocks (9, 10) constrain the path of the plate (4) allowing movement in only a single axis parallel to a spring (1) axis. A hubload from a belt running on the pulley (7) combined with the spring (1) force acting on the plate (4) cerates a force couple acting on the plate (4) through the frictional blocks (9, 10). The engaging surfaces between the plate (4) and the blocks (9, 10) have e predetermined coefficient of friction thereby creating a damping force as the pulley (7) and plate (4) move in a linear path on the blocks(9, 10).

    摘要: The invention comprises a tensioner (10) that is particularly useful in micro-V front end accessory belt drive systems used in automotive applications where minimum tensioner bulk combined with maximum balancing and minimum pivot bushing (56) wear in order to achieve maximum pulley (12) alignment over the expected life of the tensioner (10). The belt tensioner (10) of the invention is of the type with a base (42). A pivot-arm (52) is attached to a cylindrical member (53) that supports the pivot-arm (52) and rotates about a pivot (32) secured to the base (42). At least one sleeve-type bushing (56) is positioned on the pivot (32) and includes a bearing surface that supports the cylindrical member (53). A pulley (12) is attached to the pivot-arm (52) for engaging the belt and receives a belt load that generates a belt force component that is transmitted to the cylindrical member (53) (hub load). A torsion spring (48) having one end connected to the base (42) and another end interconnected to a damping means (51) generates a damping force component acting in the opposite direction as the belt force component. The damping means (51) is mounted substantially between the pivot-arm (52) and the bushing (56) along a plane parallel with the pivot (32).
