    摘要: An injection device which is devised to be safer in use than many prior such devices comprises a generally cylindrical barrel section (4, 42) which is substantially closed at its first end but has an aperture (6, 43) in that end to allow an injection needle (9, 41) to pass through it, a needle support member (10, 40, 60) to slide within the barrel section and shaped to receive one end of a liquid container such as an ampoule (12, 52, 61) of anaesthetic, and a plunger (7, 45, 62) mounted at the other end of the barrel section for axial movement in said section. The plunger is adapted both to express liquid from the liquid container when the plunger is advanced within the barrel and also to interconnect with either the needle support member of the liquid container, whereby withdrawal of the plunger withdraws both the liquid container and also the needle and its support member into the barrel section for disposal.

    摘要: On spray-forming metals onto a substrate from which the sprayed coating is to be detached, unwanted adhesion may occur, even to a smooth substrate. Conversely, if the coating is meant to adhere, it may accidentally delaminate, even from a roughened substrate.
    By vibrating the substrate, marginally adherent splats will be encouraged to detach themselves while, on the other hand, well adherent splats will not be affected.

    摘要: Array antennas constructed from some forms of waveguide radiators with sidewall slots exhibit cross polarisation and periodic errors. This problem arises from the difficulty of obtaining phase reversal in the radiation from adjacent slots in such a radiator other than by slot inclination. The present invention offers two solutions. Firstly, a radiator 10 having a number of non-inclined sidewall slots such as 13 and 14 and a septum 15 with inclined slots such as 25 and 26 which provide a phase relationship in the radiation from the sidewall slots which ensures that no significant cross polarisation errors nor grating lobes occur. A number of radiators 10 can be used to form an array. Secondly, arrays using radiators with sidewall slots, in which the distance between these slots, the dimensions of the radiators and the relative positions of individual radiators are such that the phase relationship in radiation from the slots of the array prevent significant grating lobes.
