    摘要: A mounting mechanism (10) for mounting a disk brake mechanism (18) to a bicycle. The mounting mechanism (10) includes an elongated mounting bracket (30) that is mounted adjacent the bicycle wheel assembly. Preferably a first end of the bracket (30) is coupled to the wheel dropout (12) of the frame (16) and a second end of the bracket is coupled to a portion of the bicycle frame, such as the seat stay (14). A mounting band (52) or other similar coupling element may be used to couple the second end to the frame (16) such that the integrity of the frame (16) is not compromised. The disk brake component (18) to be mounted adjacent the wheel is coupled to the mounting bracket preferably between the ends of the bracket (30).

    摘要: To provide a motorcycle, having a bottom link type front wheel suspension, with a synchronized brake system which smoothly performs a synchronized braking operation using a simplified configuration. A motorcycle includes a bottom link type front wheel suspension, hydraulic front disc brakes 50 and a hydraulic rear disc brake. Bracket 52 are attached to a front wheel axle 31 so as to be orthogonal therewith, calipers 56 of the hydraulic front disc brakes are attached to the brackets 52, tips of the brackets 52 are coupled to a front fork 13 via torque transmitting links 55, and a master cylinder 70 is provided on one of the torque transmitting links in order to produce braking hydraulic pressure in response to braking reaction force of a front wheel 32. When compressive force is applied to the torque transmitting links, the master cylinder 70 is activated in order to brake a rear wheel.

    摘要: A bicycle cable disc brake 12a is provided with a cam assembly 34 that has improved efficiency during movement under high pressure. Basically, the cable disc brake 12a has a caliper housing 30, a pair of friction members 32 and an actuated mechanism 34, 36. The first friction member 32 is movably coupled to the caliper housing 30 between a release position and a braking position. The second friction member 32 is also coupled to the caliper housing 30 and arranged substantially parallel to the first friction member 32 to form a rotor receiving slot therebetween. The actuated mechanism 34, 36 is movably coupled to the caliper housing 30 to move the first friction member 32 from the release position towards the second friction member 32 to the braking position. The actuated mechanism 34, 36 has a pair of cam members 90a, 91a movably arranged between an axially retracted position and an axially extended position with a guide member 90c interconnecting the cam members 90a, 91a during movement between the axial retracted position and the axially extended position. In the preferred embodiment, the guide member 90c is a guide pin that extends from one of the cam members 90a, 91a and is received in a bore of the other cam member 90a, 91a.

    摘要: A bicycle disc brake caliper (21) is provided with a cooling system (20) that transfers heat away from the actuating fluid. Basically, the bicycle disc brake caliper (21) has a housing and a piston unit, with a coolant member (24) of the cooling system (20) attached to the housing. The housing has a frame mounting member sized to be coupled to a portion of a bicycle frame (14). The piston unit is movably coupled to the housing between a release position, in which the piston unit is spaced from a brake disc (22) mounted to a wheel (17) of a bicycle (10), and a braking position, in which the piston unit engages the brake disc (22) of the bicycle wheel (17). The coolant member (24) has a coolant area for receiving coolant to create a coolant heat sink that transfers heat from the housing. The housing has an actuating passage in fluid communication with the piston unit to move the piston unit via an actuating fluid. In one embodiment, the cooling sytem includes a pump (25) and a reservoir (26). In another embodiment, a coolant or water bottle is attached to the coolant member for manually ading coolant thereto. In another embodiment, the coolant member is filled with a high specific heat gel.
