    [Means for Achieving the Object] A hydraulic tensioner includes a plunger (3) slidably fitted in a cylinder (5) disposed in a tensioner body (2), a reservoir chamber (10) formed in the tensioner body at a lower portion of the cylinder, a check valve (13) permitting flow of an oil in a single direction from the reservoir chamber into the cylinder which is formed as a high pressure chamber (8), a low pressure chamber (19) formed in the tensioner body exteriorly of the cylinder, an oil passage (7) connecting a bottom of the low pressure chamber to a position between the check valve and the reservoir chamber, and a spring (16) urging sand plunger upwardly, wherein the low pressure chamber contains an air layer (4) formed above a surface of the oil held in the lower pressure chamber.

    摘要: Apparatus for transferring a lithographic plate (S) from a horizontal conveyor (10) to an overhead conveyor (14) comprises elevating means (19) in the form of a pair of endless chains (20) travelling around an endless vertical path. The chains (20) carry opposed hooks (22) for engaging a folded end portion (S1) of a lithographic plate and supporting the plate therebetween as the chain conveys the plate to a plate bed (24) on which the plate is deposited and which presents the plates to the overhead conveyor. Guide rails (23) are provided for guiding the hooks apart as the plate is deposited on the plate bed. A pair of elevating means (19) may be provided to supply the lithographic plate to either one of a pair of overhead conveyors (14) depending upon the orientation with which the plate is supplied to the apparatus.

    摘要: A chain includes a plurality of identical link elements each including a main body part with a cantilevered connecting part integrally formed at one end thereof. The connecting part includes an enlarged rounded head portion (34A) and a narrower neck portion (35) extending between the head portion (34A) and the main body (32) part. The main body part has a rounded recess (36) and a narrow slot (37) formed in a first surface thereof. The slot (37) adjoins an end of the recess opposite the connecting element. The slot (37) extends from the recess to adjoin a side surface of the main body. Confining sections (38) extend from the surface of the main body adjacent the slot (37) so as to overlie opposite sides of the recess. The recess (36), slot (37) and confining sections (38) together define an opening in the first surface which has substantially the same shape as the connecting element. The chain is formed by inserting the connecting part of one link element into the recess of an adjacent link element and pivoting the one link element about its head portion such that its neck portion is received in the slot of the adjacent link element and its head portion is captured in the recess by the overlying confining sections.

    摘要: A device is provided for transferring a litho­graphic plate (S) from a horizontal conveyor (1) to an overhead conveyor (25). The transfer device comprises orientating means (2) for receiving a transvesely extending lithographic plate from the horizontal conveyor (1) and positioning a folded over end portion (12) of the lithographic plate in the path of a hook member (13) carried by an endless chain (30) of an elevating means (3), so that the plate (S) is lifted into a vertical position and then deposited on a positioning bed (4). An upper part (23) of the bed (4) is pivotable by means of a pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder (22) to position the end portion (12) of the plate (S) inwardly of the locus of the hook member (13) as the hook member passes around a lower sprocket wheel (15) of the elevating means, so that the hook member passes by without again picking up the lithographic plate. Thereafter, the pivotable portion (23) is pivoted back into alignment with the rest of the positioning bed to present the lithographic plate for collection by the overhead conveyor (25).
