An optical amplifier that is configured to amplify multiple optical signals using time-multiplexed optical energy pulses. The time-multiplexed optical energy pulses are supplied to multiple gain blocks of the optical amplifier in an alternating manner and each of the gain blocks uses the optical energy pulses that it receives to amplify one of the multiple optical signals. An optical amplifier may be configured with an optical switch to perform a switching function to direct the time-multiplexed optical energy pulses received from the pump laser to the gain blocks in an alternating manner. The total optical energy contained in each optical energy pulse may be independently controlled by varying its duty cycle or amplitude.

One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for determining properties of optical links using the amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) of integrated amplifiers. To calibrate the system, existing amplifiers in the nodes of the system can be operated in an ASE mode. A bypass switch at the mid-stage of each amplifier routes the ASE from the amplifier's first stage into one or more signal processing components, creating reference signals. Subsequently, the bypass switch routes the reference signals back into the mid-stage of the amplifier. After propagating through a link to the next node in the system, the optical parameters of the reference signals are measured and used to determine properties of the link, such as chromatic dispersion and attenuation. Tunable devices within the two nodes connected by the link may be set to compensate for specific properties of the link, thereby improving the quality of transmitted signals.

The integral mounting of the cap to the container allows easing the distribution and handling of the vial.

The regenerator is a reactor integrated in a combustion installation for the production of carbon dioxide vapor, and reduction reactor (2) of an oxygen support fed out of solid fuel having the particles equipped with solid cyclone separators and exchangers. The granulometric sorter has a circulating fluidized bed equipped with the cyclone separator. The catalyst particles are reinjected in the enclosure by a control unit at height whose pressure loss compensates the difference in pressure between the enclosure and the granulometric sorter. The solid fuel has oil residues. The average diameter of the metallic oxides particles and the catalyst particles are higher than two.
