A stool container is provided with a lid body 2 having a lid part 2a for sealing a container and a stool collection rod 2b for collecting stool, a cylindrical container body 3 that has a liquid reservoir 3b formed at the distal end thereof via a filter holding part 3a and has an open proximal end, and an inner plug 4 that is inserted from the proximal end of the container body 3 in to the container body 3. The distal end of the inner plug 4 has a bottom surface 4a that is orthogonal to the longitudinal direction and, in the center of the bottom surface 4a, a scraping part 4b through which the stool collection rod 2b can be inserted. A stool collection rod guide part is formed that comprises a plurality of sloping ribs 4c disposed radially around the scraping part 4b. As a result, in a stool collection container having a liquid reservoir at the distal end of a container body, when a scraping part for removing excess stool attached to a stool collection rod is formed on an inner plug attached to the inside of the container body, it is possible to suppress the reduction in the liquid level of a suspension inside the container body that occurs when the liquid reservoir is made to be on top during inspection without impairing the insertability of the stool collection rod into the scraping part.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a novel method for detecting a target nucleic acid; and a kit for use in the method. In the detection method according to the present invention, a fluorophore-labeled primer/probe and a quencher-labeled probe, which have complementarity to each other, are so designed as to have different melting temperatures (Tm) from each other so that the fluorophore-labeled primer can anneal preferentially to the target nucleic acid. The detection method is so designed that the fluorophore-labeled primer/probe that is not bound to the target nucleic acid is bound to the quenching probe so as to emit no fluorescence. The method enables the detection of the target nucleic acid in a simpler manner, at lower cost, and without requiring the use of any technique or device.

The piston (7) includes, on an outer periphery thereof, a communication groove (17) for communicating an inside of the cylinder chamber (6) and an outside of the cylinder chamber (6) to each other when the piston (7) is advanced by an amount corresponding to a dimension larger than a predetermined dimension, the communication groove (17) being located on the outside of the cylinder chamber (6) when the piston (7) is located at a retreated position. When the piston (7) is advanced by the amount corresponding to the dimension larger than the predetermined dimension, seal between the cylinder chamber (6) and the piston (7) is released, with the result that pressure in the cylinder chamber (6) becomes equal to the atmospheric pressure, and a suction/ejection effect is eliminated.
