摘要:
A decking system comprises a ledger board for mounting on an upright supporting surface, a beam, a plurality of joists for spanning between the ledger board and the beam, and a plurality of deck boards for spanning across the joists in which all of the components can be mounted to one another by interlocking engagement of various connectors so that no additional fasteners are required for assembly. The components are formed of extruded and molded materials which do not require any maintenance. A railing system and a stair system are also provided which similarly connect by interlocking engagement of the components.

For designing a balanced stair comprising steps with treads (1-15) showing front edges (26), a line of travel (22) is determined on the stair and a reference line is determined onto each step in a predetermined position with respect to the front edge (26) thereof. In contrast to the prior art methods wherein the reference lines, more particularly the front edges (26) or the risers (25) of the steps, are divided along the line of travel (22) on constant mutual distances measured on the line of travel itself, the substantially constant mutual distances (d) between the reference lines is determined according to the invention near the line of travel (22) along a measuring line (27) which is determined for each pair of adjoining reference lines so as to form a substantially constant angle (α) with at least one of the adjoining reference lines thereof. In this way, a stair which is easier to walk on and which automatically shows a more regular nosing line at the outer string (21) is obtained.

A stairway module (10) for use within a fuselage of an aircraft for enabling access to an overhead storage or sleeping area within the aircraft. One preferred embodiment discloses a spiral stairway module having a footprint no larger than a standard lavatory module. Another embodiment includes a stairway module having a pivotally mounted stair section (32) which can be moved between operable and inoperable positions. Both embodiments provide a mid-level platform changing area. All of the embodiments are extremely compact and allow either fore-to-aft access or athwartship access to the overhead sleeping or storage area in the fuselage of the aircraft.

A curved staircase (1) and a stair tread (4,5,6,7) for a curved staircase (1) capable of reducing a stock space used for stock keeping, enhancing the working efficiency for shipment without requiring a selection operation in accordance with a curve direction of a curved staircase (1), and facilitating assembly at a building site is provided. A curved staircase A (1) is formed by asymmetrical stair treads (4,5,6 and 7) such that finishing process for enabling use as a treadboard is applied to one horizontal surface of each stair tread (4,5,6,7), which can be an upper surface when arranged in a curved portion (10) bent in the right-hand direction and the same finishing process as that for the former horizontal surface is applied to the other horizontal surface of the stair tread (4,5,6,7), which can be an upper surface when the stair tread (4,5,6,7) is inverted to be arranged in the curved portion (10) bent in the left-hand direction.
